I think Selkie's bluntness is both a blessing and a curse. She has no tact at times... which does at least mean it's easy to start conversing about difficult subjects but it can really put you in a tough spot. I hope she feels more at ease in the clan now. I remember how often she'd leave camp during my kithood and apprenticeship.
I think you’re very funny and nice to talk with, I appreciate you catching me up on things when I get a tad sleepy! I also appreciate and respect how direct you are about things that bother you, I wish I had more confidence to be more honest with myself and others. You’re very pretty too with a quick tongue, I find it hard to keep up with you at times but I’ll try my best!
As a warrior and a mentor to me, I have so much respect toward you. You've already taught me so much and I can't wait to learn more. When Hawk abandoned us, you stepped up and didn't hide the harsh truth from me or my brother... you could have, but you didn't. That means everything to me.
You protect me and make sure I'm safe, but you don't coddle me... I think that in of itself is helping me become better prepared for my assessment and life as a warrior.

If Selkie hadn’t taken us tunnelling, maybe we could have stopped Hawk from leaving that day; from turning his back on his family. It just feels like it’s all gone wrong so fast. Know it’s not fair to blame her, but it’s all I want to do. This is awful. I feel like I can’t trust anyone.

I was granted a gift to trade in goodwill. I was told that Whistleclan would fail with their hateful intentions, and that I alone had to unite them. But when the time came, I was afraid. I waited for permission, for silence, until it was too late and Mink would never get to speak again.
We have the shard, now, but the shard never mattered. It was how we obtained it that was the true trial, and we failed. I failed Mink most of all. And I'm so, so sorry.
