Skywing Nation
An aristocratic democracy, only Skywings of the upper class are able to vote, and even then only female skywings are legally entitled to vote. Within the Skywing nation, male Skywings are legally attached to the female who's flock they are a part of. Many flock leaders grant the males of their group the right to vote, but just as many don't.
The Skywing Nation is separated into three classes, the upper class who live in the mountains, the working class that toil in the fields, and the lower class who dwell in the neglected forest regions of their nation. Their is no upward mobility, but if a noble steps out of line or does something particularly taboo, they may be exiled to a lower class.
The capital city of the Skywing Nation is the city of Champithune [Cham-peth-urn], a ciry sitting high above the clouds and housing the elite and current prime minister of the Skywing Nation.
Until recently, the Skywing Nation was in control of the Mudwing Queendom, having a puppet Queen in power. Many elite Skywings lived within the Mudwing Queendom, meaning that many with slaughtered during the Mudwing revolution. Relations between the two nations is beyond repairable at the moment, but neither feel like going to war despite the amount of outcry within the Skywing nobility.
The majority of the working class within the Skywing Nation work on farms, providing food for the nobility. Many of the farms contain families of Skywings that used to live nomadic lives before being forcefully settled by the Skywing government. The plains used to be called home to entire herds of nomadic Skywings, but now most of the herds have been settled or forced out of the Skywing nation.
Tension is growing between the two groups, as the lack of imports from the Mudwing nation mean that the quota for harvests has been raised for Skywing farms. The sparks of reveolution have been lit, and time will only tell how long until the entire praire is on fire.
Within the deepest reaches of the forests in the corners of the Skywing nation, one can find the last places that the Skywing government cannot reach. Those who dwell under the forests canopy are either those exiled from the upper class, or those living calm lives alone and away from the rest of society.
Branded as a den of criminals, the Skywing government has patrols around the borders of each forest, but due to most military members being conscripted from the working class, few actually care to do a good job if their bosses aren't looking.
The laws of the Skywing government don't apply here, for better or for worse.
