Andromeda has had feelings for Avery ever since they started working together. They can't seem to understand how he - or anyone else, for that matter - wouldn't feel the same way back. They are not handling the rejection well, and continue to pursue Avery despite his obvious disinterest.
Avery couldn't care much less about Andromeda. He sees their relationship as purely professional. To him, Andromeda is a stuck-up narcissist that only cares for their own feelings and desires. He would rather spend his time with just about anyone else.
