Glen had heard of a new professor, but he didn't expect him to be right next to his office, or to be as loud and energetic as he is. For someone as silent and tired as the math professor, this is trouble. Mateo is ALWAYS trying to spend time with him no matter where he hides. Eventually, Glen allowed it. Maybe he's too tired to avoid him anymore. Or maybe it's something else...?
Glen is Mateo's office neighbor and nearly the exact opposite of him in personality. Despite their vast differences, Mateo still tries his best to befriend and spend time with Glen. He wholeheartedly believes that Glen actually enjoys his company deep, deep, deep down under his apathetic shell. It could just be wishful thinking and maybe a slight crush on the math professor, though.
Studying writing, it's only natural for Owen to take Mateo's class. He enjoys the prompts he's given for writing assignments, it fuels his creative mind and allows him to bring life to the many ideas he has. Perhaps that's why Mateo takes an interest to him, because of his incredible writing abilities?
Owen is a student in a few of Mateo's classes. After reading one particularly dark homework submission in his creative writing course from Owen, Mateo became a bit concerned for him. Mateo will often go out of his way to greet Owen when he sees him around campus, having conversations with him about his future plans and passions.
