Literally hates Victor. Actually despises him. Zaire thinks he is insufferable and any instance where both of them are present at once should be avoided. Zaire has extensively bullied Victor over the radiowaves and used to find entertainment in doing so, but he is [trying to become] a changed man...
Doesn't at all understand why Azuré is friends with this guy.
Forgot why they hate Zaire in the first place but it’s probably for good reason. Does not want anything to do with this man ever, though sort of finds their interactions together a little entertaining. Hopes he farts in public and everyone looks at him and he embarrasses himself forever.
"She like, makes movies and stuff. My cat likes the ones that are really violent."
Zaire subconsciously equates knowing Fatima to exploring the strange opening...... he doesn't like to think about it.
Any fan of Fatima's work is already in the good books for her. Other than that, she really just knows that Zaire works at the CD store and hangs underground pretty often. Since she explored the strange opening with him and a few others, there's an unspoken undercurrent of what they all saw there hanging like a cloud over any interaction. She opts never to bring it up, but wonders if she should.
"This guy sells good soup but I only ever get some when I can eat in the restaurant because my cat has a crush on his cat and he gets mad if I bring home soup and didn't take him with me."
Azuré can be a little too harsh for Fatima's tastes at times, but she generally thinks she is fun to talk with (it probably helps that her ire has never been directed at Fatima). Either way, Fatima enjoys energy that she brings, and shares Azuré's thoughts on their mutual friend Victor's reckless behavior. If they were to meet in person, Fatima would probably love looking at all her artistic endeavors.
Does not have any memory of Fatima's presence during any radio conversation despite it happening numerous times.
Zaire despises his father. Laurence never treats him with respect, constantly puts him down, and most of all, hides crucial pieces of Zaire's life from him. The more Zaire finds out about Laurence, the more infuriated he becomes with him. Why does his dad keep everything from him? He only knows bits and pieces, not nearly enough to put together a logical story, and as a result, Zaire fills in the blanks by blaming himself. He avoids Laurence as much as possible, which is still not as much as he wishes, due to the unfortunate circumstances Laurence intentionally placed him in. Laurence keeps Zaire around by offering his sculptures a spot in his gallery. Typically, Zaire wouldn't care for such a thing– exposure and attention are definitely not things he desires– however, the incentive: a big check. Zaire, with his constant desire to have more money than he needs, only agrees to partake in the gallery for the money. The other unfortunate thing about this is Laurence requires Zaire does all of his work at the studio in his house. Zaire sees right through it, frantically searching for other ways to make bank so he can finally leave, but is stuck for now.
Where to even start... Laurence is Zaire's father. He has a very strained relationship with him, wanting to love him as his son but continuously failing to provide Zaire the support he needs. After Laurence's separation from Wing 5, and ESPECIALLY after the separation from Zaire's mother, Laurence grew paranoid about protecting Zaire from the lesser known happenings of Caligula. Did he accomplish that...? Pffft! Hell no. Now he's emotionally absent, a liar, and incredibly judgmental of his son. He projects all of his problems onto Zaire as he sees him growing up to be exactly what he wished he hadn't become. Laurence feels he failed himself in his parenting and wishes Zaire would just take the opportunities "handed" to him at the art gallery. He supposes if Zaire won't take the recognition for his own artwork, then someone has to... he can't let people lose interest in that exhibit! That brings money! Obviously that's important here... right? Deep down, Laurence is afraid of Zaire leaving him, and is aware of all that he does wrong, but who knows if he'll ever come to his senses and stop trying to pretend this isn't how he really feels. Either way, the damage is done and irreversible, and he has truly failed at raising his son, but that doesn't make Zaire the failure Laurence likes to claim he is.
Younger brother. Complicated. Zaire cares about Azuré, of course, they've known each other for years... grew up together, in a sense. Azuré kept Zaire from feeling more alone and afraid than he already was in his childhood. Or... did she...? Not that it matters... even though Zaire takes pride in all of the trouble they've gotten into together, he still judges her for her... lifestyle. Seems that he blames her for something, even? Regardless, they are best friends. They've always been two peas in a pod, risk takers, troublemakers. A pretty badass duo. It is a little concerning what kind of things these two can accomplish together.
