Spark is the very first member of Team Silver that Whisteria truely felt like she could trust, be it due to her kindness towards her, or the fact that she's covered her in battle more than once. Whisteria always felt a certain pull towards Spark, which later resulted in her pining for her quite intensely. However, after battling Luxray in the pink zone, their relationship became estranged. Spark's presence became less and less frequent with the exception of missions, leaving Whisteria with several unresolved questions. Whisteria learned, not from Spark but from Lo Dabar's mouth that the luxio had been spending most of her time with the guilds nurse, Pachirisu. This caused jealously to bubble up, furthering the rift between the two. After being confronted by the nature of the crystal, Spark leaves Whisteria with a confusing gesture, a kiss. The two have a discussion, both of the pokemon confess romantic feelings for eachother, but it is not as simple as a confession. Whisteria, having personal qualms about her identity and the idea of pursuing serious relationships, cannot make a promise she feels she cannot keep. She loves Spark dearly, but the idea of coming between two pokemon for her own gain feels wrong to her. After an unsuccessful attempt conversation between herself, Spark, and Nurse Pachi to sort things out, the two seem to be at odds again due to repeated miscommunications.
