Kithood

Quail was born in the middle of the desert with three other kittens. They lived in the desert for a few moons before Tumbleweed took them to their other mother. Tumbleweed brought them back to Caveclan for safety . Quail had to get used to lower temperatures and adjust to not having Tumbleweed around in their kithood. Quail thought of Heatherfur as more of a mother to the kits than Tumbleweed, having never truly known her.

Apprenticeship

Quailpaw was apprenticed under Shiverjaw, and it went by quite smoothly. They were always a bit jealous of their older sister Falconpaw, who got to be the apprentice of their mother, Grackleshade. 

They trained hard and tough to gain the favor of their mother, but they aren’t as strong as Falconpaw, or Starlingpaw for that matter. They felt a little closer to the other youngest, Juncopaw. The two had a hard time keeping up with the energy of Starlingpaw, and the ferocity of Falconpaw. 

Quailpaw was so in their own head about becoming better, that they didn’t think about Falconpaw’s side of things. They viewed her as cruel and ruthless. Cold and calculating. They never could think of anything wrong with Starlingpaw, but they held a hatred in their heart over his status -just slightly above their own. They wanted to do better- to be better. Maybe then, Grackleshade would love them more than Falconpaw.

Their childish dream of glory was lessened when they realized that all 

Falconpaw wanted was to love and protect her littermates. She wasn’t the arrogant and cruel image that they had made up.

Warriorhood

Quailpaw was granted the name Quailspark on account of their speed and intelligence from their grandmother, Cavern. Being third in line, Quailspark wanted to show their support for their littermates Falconwatcher, Starlingmoon, and Juncojaw as they all grew into warriors, and trained hard to help out with the community. 

Cavern had gotten sick, and Quailspark didn’t have faith that the elder would survive. While they were mourning, Grackleshade’s attitude became more spiteful towards Cliffclan, making Quilspark question her judgement and authority. Noticing the spike in their mother’s anger, Quailspark talked to Juncojaw and Starlingmoon about her behavior, worried and doubtful.

Quailspark was assigned Beetlepaw as an apprentice. They are quite nervous about being a role model, as they didn’t feel too confident about their skills as a leader in any shape. Hopefully, Beetlepaw can see past their flaws.

Cliffclan attacks. Everything is in shambles. It’s so loud it’s deafening, and Quailspark can’t move from fear. Newtchirp attacked without warning, only Cereusface and Petalwish’s cries to wake the sleeping cats. Beetlepaw isn’t with them. They’re terrified. Where is he? My son? They hide away to the shadows, knowing they’d be a burden if they tried to join in the fight, just like the last time. When Grackleshade calls for their retreat, they still end up separated from Beetlepaw.
