Cybertron: past

Autobots and Decepticons face an energon shortage leading to a tense stalemate in the war. Bots are starving and shutting down from lack of energon. Living Sparks are at a premium. Shockwave has discovered a new form of distilled energon but it is showing strange effects. An Autobot probe sent into the darkest parts of space has returned with a signal, a blip near the star Sol.
The information is leaked and both Megatron and Optimus race toward the source. Learning along the way that the planet they are heading for is Earth, a planet with sentient life.
The Autobots loose track of the Decepticons in a crash landing on the Moon, Optimus falls to Earth, captured by its beauty.

Earth: past

After a Spark-smuggler crash-lands on Earth, human looters retrieve the surviving Sparks from the crash site and, unknowing of their true origins, try to exploit them as a source of power. A combination with nuclear power results in a predictable but unplanned for meltdown and begins a decent towards an apocalyptic winter before the site is saved by a commandeered Decepticon space bridge. The unstable power source (Spark origin unknown to the Cybertonians, though Wheeljack is suspicious) is successfully transported to a distant planet. A shadowy Earth government unit, CORE, continues to toy with what remains of Spark-research.

Planet Negative-7

An abandoned outpost crackles to life to recieve a delivery from the Sol System. The tampered and irradiated Sparks unleash a nuclear winter on the planets surface. A passing probs sends a signal back to a nearby research team on the mission of searching for energon.

Earth: current day

The Autobots land on Earth to find and retrieve Optimus. The Decepticons' whereabouts are unknown.
