not focusing on it right now because i'm much more interested in my human-centric stories at the moment, but i'm looking back at my old warriors ocs and like.... while warrior cats is still extremely nostalgic for me in a lot of ways, i don't really want to tell stories in that universe anymore. i try not to get into ~discourse~ or anything but yeah not only is the warrior cats fandom a fucking dumpster fire (derogatory), but also the older i get the more and more aware i am of how fucked up the worldbuilding is. and i don't mean logistically--i mean all the anti-indigenous racism and appropriation. i'm white as hell and i don't want to talk over anyone in that regard, but yeah. it's fucked up. jesus fucking christ.

i'm not gonna say i have no attachment left to the series b/c that'd be a fucking lie, but that's mainly for the impact it's had on me as a person and a writer. for better or worse i wouldn't be who i am today without warrior cats. however, i'm not going to engage with the fandom anymore and i'm certainly not going to engage with the source material anymore.

that being said though yeah i think i'm gonna take my warrior cats ocs and move them into some more original worldbuilding/away from warrior cats in general, at least for the ones whose stories i still want to write up at some point (like cedarpelt). most of them i'll probably leave as is for nostalgia/sentimental reasons (especially characters like pumpkinpatch and the og rookwatcher). or maybe i'll make 'em humans or something. who knows, we'll see. but i won't be making any more of them going forward.

as for all my warriors aus, for any that i'm still interested in trying to do something with, i'll be transferring them over to original worldbuilding as well (mainly for the tftgs one, because that one i am still very interested in, and also my boy lionheart). the rest... idk.
