yeah of course! i feel bad since it isn't really the appropriate place to be debating it, but at the same time i couldn't stand to watch such sweeping statements about people's identities being "wrong" somehow being made and just... not say anything lol.

for sure it's absolutely ridiculous... other people's identities aren't forcing anything on you or forcing you to say slurs and it isn't lgbtphobic to identify with pronouns you're reclaiming, let alone comparable to being a pedophile??? if it upsets them that much to see people identify in a way they personally wouldn't be comfortable identifying then just don't interact with those people instead of implying they should change how they identify themselves to better suit some random internet stranger's needs. in general i think people are too quick to equate "this is something i wouldn't be comfortable with for myself" with "this is inherently bad, and it is a moral failing for others to not also be uncomfortable identifying this way". like people's personal traumas are important, but it isn't the fault of some random other person online, and it certainly isn't their obligation to change themselves for the sake of some unreasonable stranger who thinks they're somehow Inherently Bad anyway.
