In the main timeline I write Vreeza in, Mergiol is not around because Vreeza killed them in the course of fighting off the search party sent to drag them back to school. Their interactions here were brief and entirely hostile.
However, in a different RP that was a reboot of the original one that the main timeline is based off of, Vreeza's best friend Ted was present when the search party arrived and managed to convince them to spare Mergiol. As a result of this, and because Mergiol was consequently stranded on Earth with absolutely nowhere else to go, Vreeza ended up begrudgingly allowing them to stay in their house.
Vreeza designed Mergiol's disguise and gave them a copy of their English translator files, meaning that Mergiol, a serious adult, is stuck looking and sounding like they're trying very hard to be a scene kid to any humans they encounter. Vreeza understands that Mergiol was just doing their job, but also understands that if given the opportunity, Mergiol would very much like to return to just doing their job, and so they don't trust them an inch. They resent Mergiol for their fatalistic attitude and for their "respect your elders" bullshit, and often bicker, but their relationship is slowly improving.

Sometimes, Mergiol claims they'd have preferred to have died - since getting stranded, they have become very depressed, as they have lost their one source of purpose and structure - their career. It's not like it was a particularly enjoyable career, but it was better than sitting around forevermore in some kid's falling apart space trailer. They deeply resent Vreeza and take every opportunity to lash out verbally at not only Vreeza but also anyone else nearby. The one time they get along somewhat well with Vreeza is when there are some kind of particularly stupid shenanigans afoot - Mergiol finds it entertaining to see these things blow up in everybody's face and will therefore happily go along with them.
Secretly, Mergiol is acting as an informant - passing on information about Vreeza to the hostile organization that keeps sending SWAT teams to their house, in hopes of receiving special treatment for themself. They're not doing this out of malice, but rather out of a deep pessimistic conviction that Vreeza and Ted are absolutely going to get caught eventually regardless of what they do and so they might as well try to save their own hide. They do feel guilty about it, but they ignore that feeling and press onward.
Vreeza likes Verity, but holds a level of condescension towards her that's really unusual for them because of her long history of photographing them for tabloid articles that confidently and incorrectly identified them as a "swamp ghost." Despite the misinformation, they used to collect these tabloids and excitedly show their friends that they had been in the news, so they were very excited when they ran into her in person at the local gas station and finally had a chance to do a real interview and set the record straight about whether they were a ghost or not. In Vreeza's opinion, this interview went great, and they'd love to do more, but they haven't seen her since.
For years, Vreeza provided a steady source of income for Verity, because they are not hard to spot if you happen to come near them in the swamp and cryptid photos of a glowing teenager who REALLY looked like a ghost and who she definitely thought was an actual ghost sold very well to local tabloids. When they ran into each other by chance at the local gas station, she was shocked, but excited - she expected that this could be her big break into real journalism, an interview with the swamp ghost! Unfortunately for her, the interview she ended up with debunked the swamp ghost myth and read as largely incoherent. She thinks Vreeza seems unstable, potentially kind of dangerous, and, more importantly, not really worth further investigation at this time.
Vreeza received Prax as a gift from an online friend, and was delighted to have another pet. It's lower maintenance than their other pet, so they don't necessarily feel as close with it, but they still enjoy taking care of it and, with assistance from some other friends, have built it a nice terrarium tank in their lab - their main house's temperature is unsuitable for the creature.
Prax is a terrarium pet, so it mostly minds its own business and does not have a lot of contact with Vreeza, although they do occasionally take it out on "walks" that mainly consist of carrying it around outside for a little while.
Vreeza caught Homare-chan in the swamp outside their house and brought it into their house as a pet, where it has lived ever since. When they first met, it tried to eat Vreeza's phone, but now they feed it cabbage, its favorite food, frequently, so this doesn't happen anymore. For days, they did not name it because they believed that it must already have a name but just couldn't communicate it to them - Homare-chan only received a name after a group chat Vreeza is in explained to them that animals generally don't have their own names already. It's named after another guy who was in the group chat. Vreeza takes care of Homare-chan as best they can and is very fond of it, but does not take the friendship as seriously as they take their friendships with people who can talk to them. They're very proud of having a bigger and more dangerous pet frog than anyone else, and took great delight in the one time Homare-chan got in a fight with a guy they hate and kicked his ass, but they still try to prevent the frog from getting involved in violent situations whenever possible since it is their responsibility to take care of it. Vreeza insists Homare-chan is well-behaved and they really do believe it, but this assessment is mainly founded in the fact that their previous attempt at pet ownership involved a wild alligator that bit their arm off, so the bar for what they consider good behavior is extremely low.
Homare-chan, being a frog, does not have particularly complex feelings about Vreeza, but does recognize them as a reliable source of food and shelter and is generally willing to tolerate affection.
