"Yes, professor. As you say." — Dutiful to a fault, Jupiter knows what to do to best worm their way into good graces with their jailer, though it seems more asskissing than out of any actual intent to follow Juno's words. Either way, Jupiter trots along dutifully behind him and does whatever need be, though keeps a hidden seed of resentment buried deep within their heart.

"We are family, Death and I. Inseparable, as not even I can escape Death."
Joseph was raised by Death for all his life and inherited strong magical capabilities to heal the sick, but under one condition — Death chooses who lives and who dies. He considers it an irreplaceable being and an important part of his life, always coming to it for advice through its millennia of experience. Though Joseph does hold a bit of a rebellious streak, much like every son to their fathers.
"You are a headache I put up with because I care for you." — Joseph's godfather and caretaker for most of it's life, the boy was entrusted to it when he was young, and though Death's sworn off any attachment to mortals, it can make an exception to this one. It constantly keeps companion to Joseph and whispers in his ear about advice and comments about the current situation. Death can be a little overbearing, but it always tries to keep Joseph's best interests at heart.
"I long to see him every waking moment of every day — to feel him and know that he is alive."
A feeling that resembles "love", Joseph was initially wary of the man that would become his closest friend and... perhaps something more? Apprehensive of his nurse's intentions, Joseph kept his distance until circumstances forced him to show his real face around Hugo. Eventually, they would grow close, and the doctor's interest gradually became that of an obsession... until he finally understood exactly what feeling was hidden deep in his heart.
"If by my life or death i can protect you, I will." — What started of as a cold partnership turned into something more after Hugo realized that Joseph had the power to do great things, an ambition stifled by fear that he saw daily. His nurse and aide, Hugo keeps watch over him in more ways than one, disposing of the Cult where he can and providing a wall to lean against. He keeps his personal emotions stifled until he could bear it no longer.
In the end, all he wants is to keep him safe.
“My temptations in your eyes, And the cities of your grief…” In the midst of a turning point in the once-stressful doctor's life, "Alain Roueche" had held great indifference towards Past. However, time is so little, and so was the man's guardー He kept him in his company as a companion, as a "friend" he could confide in and be transparent in this strange world despite the lack of faith. For a man with a wounded spirit who wishes to mend the lives of others, "Alain Roueche" could only do so much, but "Amos Crane" grew nothing but a trust and admiration that would never be spoken upon.
"I'm thinking of you and the things you do to me." — Amos Crane is the crux of temptation, and Faust is naught but the devil whispering in his ear, pushing him to his limit. He can see his past, his present, and his future — intrigued by the prospect, he follows him when he can, offering aid at times and cruelly disguised harm in others. For what is a life but a stage, and us as mere players...
