The invention of time travel wasn't what everyone hoped or even thought it would be. After two scientists traveled over a century in the past and then returned to their own timeline upon the realization that something was amiss, disaster immediately struck.

Traveling to the past and back again had ended up merging the two respective time periods into one. It wasn't just the 21st century anymore... it was also the 19th century.
