Vanish is a valued ally to Neveah. She is fascinated by Vanish's enhancements, and comes on a little strong when asking to research them. She was initially confused by their devotion to the omnic rebel leader, but has a mutual understanding that people do crazy things for the ones they love.
Oh, there is just something about them that Riree is just desperate to appease, and to be enough in their gaze. It was a shocking turn to go from having a lack of faith in higher beings to suddenly becoming breathless in Nianavir's presence. They'd like to think this impression isn't because they're a God- that Nianavir truly is just a spotlight of good that they've needed to know existed out there in the world- but, it might be. Who knows, they won't think about it too hard; they are just extremely grateful for their help even though Riree themself has struggled so hard to admit to needing it. They'd do anything Nianavir asks, and more...
Riree to Nianavir is a source of both a lot of joy and concern. Joy, because Riree is a bright spot on the world; Nianavir sees the kindness and interesting parts of Riree that they themself might think themself to be worthless. Concern, because Nianavir is familiar with the burden being chosen by the gods. Beyond just a god and their follower though, Nianavir holds a deep fondness for them, maybe going a bit beyond that...
"She's as troubling as she is troubled. Poor thing's gone stiff on the world as she has for herself, something like a petrified sprout that's dying to grow. But she's got a sweetness in her eyes, despite the furrowed brow- I won't believe she's all lost. Sugar just needs a little warmin' up."
"Day 36, Entry 15, Daily Log. ...Leio is a conundrum to me. Does she have no desire to see the broader world? Is it really ok to be so secure in a single place? Ridiculous... And yet, I suppose I can see the appeal; Leio has created a bastion of comfort and protection out here deep in the forest... and I can't help but be drawn into her pace a little. If I wasn't on such important business, I could easily see how someone might just want to stay here for a lifetime. "
While for Taki, Kaien would give her the world if she asked- When it comes down to Aquila, Kaien would surely bring the realms to their end if anything happened to him. He has a soft spot for this boy in such a way that his quietness tends to remind Kaien of kindness- he strives to be as observant and gentle as young Aquila can be.
Before he'd even known Emair, Shade accidentally took away everything that they cared about in life. A chain reaction of events lead to Emair facing struggles in their world that they had been paranoid about for so long, and finally they had one person to blame for it all. Shade couldn't fathom why this one zemotan was so persistent in trying to kill him- he'd been completely open about not being a threat, yet this blur of red always found itself in the corner of his eye before he found himself targeted again, and again. It wasn't until he was able to save them from a near freak-accident in the mountains that Shade was spared an opportunity to speak with them, and finally things began to turn around slowly. They still attacked him, but at least it wasn't lethal anymore- perhaps to blow off steam, get frustrations out, Shade couldn't be sure. But with a few more battles and a couple careful steps, Shade can happily say things are going just fine with Emair.
Hating and blaming Shade was so easy, accepting he was innocent was much harder. Trusting him has been more difficult than anything- or so Emair thought. There was actually a degree of relief they felt when Shade came forward about the things that happened, and when he promised he'd set things right, Emair believed him. They won't show it, and they'll never admit to him that they've lost their anger toward him, that they're glad he's helping, or that they feel safer with him than some of their own friends. He's a damn charming Devalin, and Emair hates it. But they're falling for it.
A guardian of opposing nature, and yet a... 'friend' nonetheless. I cherish the moments where neither of us are too busy- being within their company is nothing short of pleasant and warm. I find myself wondering every day when I shall feel their touch again.
Riree has come to like Iurnan quite a lot, and pities him greatly now that they have an understanding of his situation. They would rather not waste his time with their condolences, instead striking up small conversations with him now and again in hopes he feels less small. He doesn't seem the totally sociable type though, so they respect what interaction he's willing to offer. But if he ever asked them for anything, they would gladly provide aid where they can- and lay down their life for him and Liabella if it came to it.
Iurnan was wary of Riree at first, he suspected that they were being dishonest about their true intentions or could have been waiting to abandon the party. Those concerns have since been assuaged, and he has deemed Riree a worthy and welcome companion to him and Liabella. He appreciates Riree's down to earth attitude on a lot of things, and thinks that Liabella and them could be very good friends if they would just communicate or respect each other a bit more.
They miss him, actually. It was a constant war between feeling bad for him and just being a bit annoyed- but that no less means they didn't enjoy his company. Chains was a good friend, they knew this. He's the loyal sort and he's always trying his best, it was just difficult to explain things to him sometimes. They wish they tried harder for him, and got to know him better. His competitive nature was thoroughly a joy, and often they find themself wondering what he'd do now if he were here on their adventures... they hope he's doing well.
They have a hunch that Augustus is actually a bit older than they originally thought him to be, but his innocence goes unmatched(as far as a feral hermit's innocence goes, that is). After discovering what it is Augustus has been searching for, Riree can't help but empathize. As of now, they really enjoy being around him and relishing in the silly chaos he tends to stir, hoping that their presence is enough for now to console him. They will help him in any way they can.
Kasimir was definitely a shock to see for the first time- not that Riree was put off by him, but rather extremely curious. It didn't take long for them to develop a sense of protectiveness over him- while biased, and being highly aware he can take care of himself- they have become quite impulsive when jumping to his defense. He has a good heart, they're sure of it. How is it no one else sees this?
Kas' first impression of Riree was that they were very pretty, and far too friendly for their own good. As they worked together and got to know one another more Kas realized that Riree is one of the few people he has met that seem to truly be a good person without much ulterior motive. Since they met, Riree has, despite- or perhaps in spite of- Kas' best efforts to resist, forged a bond that may be something approaching friendship. Kas believes they are far kinder to him than he deserves. While he isn't used to it, he certainly isn't complaining.
Liabella is a bitch, but even Riree can't deny she has flair. Surely there's at least SOMETHING under that harsh facade if she's got a sense of style? They're determined to prove they aren't wasting their time being around her- at least, they won't throw in the towel yet despite how often they feel on their toes around her. If they can get through to Liabella, then they'd certainly start to believe that they can do anything.
She's... still mysterious, and she's been helpful. But more than anything now, Riree has grown very fond for Gale, and so quickly too. She's been a joy to talk to and hear from, learning about airships and the work she does for The Inventor has been nothing short of inspiring. She works herself to the bone, which- sure, that's admirable! But they do wish Gale could try and get more sleep. She's got a great head on her shoulders, but that won't stop Riree from worrying about her sometimes. She's an excellent friend to have, and they miss her every passing day.
Riree is a wonderful person in Gale's eyes, and they looks up to them quite a lot. To Gale, Riree represents a form of confidence, strength, and charisma that she simply doesn't have for herself, yet she strives to achieve. When Riree comforted her after the ship crash, Gale appreciated their support immensely, and probably would have grown distant from the group without them being there to mend the broken pieces of her ship, and her heart. The fact that they seem to listen to her and be genuinely interested in what she has to say about machines really makes her feel comfortable being herself. One of her best friends, right beside Chains.
Kagei is an extremely outgoing pirate captain of the The Mantis, who quite literally risked all they had (and their life) for this stubborn half-orc; there's nothing they wouldn't do for him. He's the stone in their life that's grounded them to be less reckless than before, but life is not without adventures (and theft) wherever they go.
Asher was initially very closed off to anyone else, but Kagei is the one who changed that. Willingly or not, his heart was forcefully pried open, and Kagei wiggled themself inside it. Asher would be lost without them now, and cares about them to a degree that he felt he was never even capable of. He is finally at home around them.
To Kaien, Taki means the world to him and more. Perhaps he's still convinced this warlock business will help him protect those dear to him, but with or without such power, he knows well there's not a soul that would escape him alive should anyone ever try and take her from him again. He would turn over the world to her if he could.
Taki loves Kaien very much, she takes after him more personality-wise- she can be very rash sometimes. Kaien is the dad that Taki looks up to, versus Rayden who she looks to for guidance and advice.
He knew there would be a catch, befriending the pilot. But Shade was left with so few options at the time, he couldn't help but find security in another person who treated him as an equal. Raiden was a rigorous rookie but had an undeniably intimate relationship with the sky, and Shade admired him for that. A partner he could fly with, it's all he could really ask for.
He didn't look very alien, that's for sure. A couple blue stripes and some horns really made that much of a difference to people, huh? Well, no matter to Raiden. He took pity on Shade and actually tried to get the guy to warm up, not cause he was stupid, but he just had no idea what was so special about having an 'alien' around. If he was here to serve as any other person here, Raiden could talk to him just fine, soldier to soldier.
How many times do I gotta remind you that you don't owe me anything?
Consider this all a favor, then.
