Hi again!

Things haven't exactly gotten better. We have a more specific diagnosis for my mom, and the stress is weighing on us a lot. As such, it's so hard to be creative.

One of the few outlets I've found lately is doing routine maintenance like drawing up icons for characters, character portraiture, and... writing! I think I'm doing to write little blurbs and poetry about characters and post some of it here. If you're not into cringey poetry or writing or any of that jazz, I advise you unsubscribe from my literary entries, cus I'd like to consistently post. I'm not offended by it at all :)

I hope everyone else is hanging in there. I hope I can find some sort of creative jazz in time for ArtFight, but who knows. ♥

Hey friends. It's not difficult to tell that I've been less than active on Toyhouse, and that's mostly because of life stuff. I've been beset upon on all sides by tragedy for like two years straight and it takes a turbo toll on my mental health, which takes a really bad toll on when I want to be creative. 

I won't go into a whole lot of detail, but despite avoiding COVID, my grandmother has developed worsening dementia and/or Alzheimers, my mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and my dog, who has already been ridden with cancer (boxer breed) is only getting worse health-wise. Her hearing is probably going and she's exceptionally lumpy. She turns 13 this year. 

As a more minor grievance, my work schedule has been turned upside down due to the command of a new manager who's just kindof stupid, so my sleep schedule is fucked. After working an afternoon closing shift for the last year and a half, I've had to work AM opening shifts that start as early as 4:30am. Ugh.

More positively, I was successfully diagnosed for an anxiety disorder, and am waiting for medication for that, which should help tremendously. I'm also figuring out an ADHD or ADD diagnosis with my doctor ASAP (she thinks I could have one or the other, or both. and maybe even OCD. sigh). But all this stuff happening has been stressing me out beyond belief. I barely sketch and more finished pieces that are due have been diligently picked at a tiny bit at a time without making any real progress. I get fatigued very quickly. It sucks. I want to draw stuff. I want to write, and I want to put the ideas I have floating around in my head but it won't come out. We'll see what happens upcoming but I'm not making a speedy recovery any time soon.

Thank you dearly for the few clients who are waiting on work from me, who have exhibited the utmost patience. I'm on it. Just very slow and sure.

So I'm thinking of changing my handle everywhere to sucremortis. It's more original, I think I enjoy it more, and fewer sites have it taken already. What do you guys think? Teratoma has been my handle for a DECADE now, so it's iconic, and obviously teratomart works for my art business and my art accounts. If I changed it, it would be:

sucreartem/artemmortis/sucremortis-art: art acct on all sites? not sure on this one yet

I got some new CSS and HTML today :) please bear with me while I update everything, make sure it looks good, and potentially update characters w new HTML to match. I might hide some characters that are incomplete or have no story bits for a while until I can actually write something for them........ Maybe not though. :) stay tuned friends
