There are three races of bird people. All of them have feathers for hair and a beak-like nose.

The Boreasz: They have normal arms and legs, and wings on their back. Their feathers are brightly coloured and flashy and are the main source of their ego and superiority complex. They are excellent architects and the most airborn out of all the three races. They can perform extravagant manouvers in the air and can fly high and for a very long time. Their houses are mainly located on the top of trees, except for the elders who have trouble getting up to the high branches. They are also the tallest of the races, the avarage height being around 180-200 cm. They have a distant shepherding, mountain tribe who all have pitch black feathers.

The Eurusz: Their arms are long and feathered. They are secretive and earth-bound, and have no means of actual flight. Their feathers are earth-coloured, mostly browns and greys to camouflage them. They are nomadic and change their locations (mostly hidden cave systems) as seasons or their mood changes. They are very close-minded and have a grudge against anything and everyone out of their tribes, but mostly towards the Boreasz.Avarage height around 150-180.

The Zephür: Their arms completely turned into wings. They too are secretive, but not exactly on their own accord; their villages blend so seemlessly into the forest that few can find them. They are peaceful and sometimes even a bit naive. Their craft is rough but sturdy. Their feathers are mostly dark-coloured and their nose-beak is always yellow. Their avarage height is around the same as the Eurusz’s.

Meniad is a boreasz, a single father. His son’s (Mirián) mother Ilién is an eurusz. She got overwhelmed by the prospect of a (mixed) child and left him to face this unique challange alone.

Despite being one of the best architects in his tribe he started to struggle and face discrimination.  Couldn’t find anyone who would sell/make clothes for his child, so he had to learn to sew. Very few were willing to accept his coins for good when he went to the market with Mirián in his arms. His father tried to support him as much as he could but Meniad ended up building a nest far from the outskirts of their village. When he learned another eurusz tribe was camping close for the summer he went to ask fot their advice. He was still young and very much inexperienced, especially with a child so differently „built” than him. Fortunately this tribe was more accepting then others and started to mentor him on all aspects of fatherhood. As the season changed he become very close to them, and in the end the tribe leader, a wise old but sturdy matriarch invited him and his son to join them on their way to their winter home. And he never left them.
