I believe I have an old one floating around on DeviantArt somewhere, but I wanted to make an on-site one to keep easier track. This refers to the use of all characters designed by me, whether they were designed and sold as an adoptable, or a personal character of mine that was later sold or otherwise transferred to another person.
As a principle, I do not revoke characters that were paid for in full, with no exceptions. Once you complete payment, it is yours to use. These are just common courtesy guidelines.
You may
- sell, trade and gift them for any price or item(s) you see fit, including for free, to anyone
- redesign them any way you want, including but not limited to: name, accessories, markings, colours, species, personality changes etc. even beyond recognition
- use them for any purpose you see fit, at your own discretion, including not using the character at all
- use any of the art I drew for them for personal use (icons, banners, decoration, etc.)
You may not
- claim credit for the original design or any art by me
- use any of the art I drew of them for monetary profit of any kind* or NFTs
- attempt to return the character to me if I stated I don't want it back** - all sales are final, but you are free to transfer it to anyone else
- hold me accountable for what happens to the character/design after transfer - once I transfer it, it is out of my hands, I will not monitor its use, and I do not take responsibility for what anyone else chooses to do with it
*This does not refer to making the character resale price higher if it comes with commissions by me. While I think character "value counters" should be taken with a grain of salt and not be used as an estimate of the actual sale price, in the end, it is up to you to choose what to price the character you're selling, and I will not stop you.
**Certain characters I will always be open to taking back should the owner no longer want them, such as any Aigippus designed by me (and most Aigippus in general).
