Has art of your OC(s) randomly disappeared?
I've had people randomly delete art of my characters/remove my characters from art without my knowledge or consent and it's really uncool and annoying.
If someone doesn't have the art backed up, it could be lost forever.
There are other solutions that don't involve erasing art of someone else's OC.
1. Ask the user to hide/private the art
2. Ask the user to credit you as an offsite artist while linking to your TH (so it doesn't show up under your art tab)
3. Ask the user to credit you some other way or simply create an unrelated credit
TLDR: If you want to be credited with your TH username, don't be a douchebag who abuses the flawed system.
You are part of the problem with people not giving/not wanting to give proper credit.

It does look like the option is gone now, thankfully
But I have no idea when the art was removed from my character's profile, so that is still likely what occurred in the past. It was a character I hadn't used in a while
Other update: It looks like artists couldn't delete art outright, but someone could remove your character from art if they also had an OC in said piece of art. Once your OC was removed, they could then delete it from there. This also appears to have been resolved!
So, while I was a little mixed up with how the mechanic worked, my point still stands: don't remove artwork from someone else's character's gallery without consent.

Yes. If they are credited as the artist, they are able to delete art at will, without any notice or any push notifications.
I believe there used to be the option to remove any character from art pieces, even if the person removing the character doesn't own the removed character. But, I think TH has removed that feature, thankfully.

This is not true. An artist cannot delete an image that is attached to a character they do not own. Furthermore, if the image is attached to multiple characters and you decide to edit the image as an image owner, the option for deleting the image is absent.
You cannot delete an image from your art tab or that is part of a character that you don't own.
Additionally, the artist credit can be edited by the artist themselves via the checkbox in the corner of the image thumbnail that occurs when an artist has created an image on a character they don't own.
Feel free to test this for yourself, but nothing in this bulletin or comment is true if you understand how Toyhouse works! I'm sorry your images disappeared some how, but it's not for the reasons you claim it is.

I was under the impression you couldn't, but that's about the only explanation I have as to why I have had images disappear other than TH itself eating images (which has also happened to me on a very large scale and the admins did nothing to help).
This problem may have been fixed now, but it definitely used to be the case at one point.
There 100% was the option to remove characters you didn't own from art in the past. I had it done to me and I recall seeing the option to do so. Thankfully, it appears they have fixed that.
I didn't ask for a lecture on the subject. Something happened, I'm allowed to vent my feelings on the subject.
Even if the information I have is outdated, you don't have the right to imply that I am a liar.

I didn't say you were a liar. I didn't imply you were a liar. You misinformed your audience, and at least this one person who you replied to. You were uneducated and uninformed, and that is all. I made zero implications to you being a liar.

I do believe that option has been fixed as well. I did a bit of digging and it APPEARS that I cannot remove characters I do not own from a piece of art anymore. I think this was a good choice, as some people maliciously remove art from galleries because they have something against the character, user, or art. I can understand not wanting to see old art, but you shouldn't remove a character without warning. At least give the people a head's up that you want the art gone so they have the opportunity to save it elsewhere. But yes, it definitely used to be that way, I got a little mixed up. It was removing the character from the art (and then possibly deleting it from there). I'm not sure why the person above was so adamant that that has never been the case, especially when it is entirely possible they have not been on TH as long as other users such as you or me.
Blatant disregard of my experience on TH aside, I was also irritated with this commenter because I don't appreciate being called uneducated, especially by an individual who doesn't really know me or my background at all. I also didn't appreciate the implication that I have intentionally spread false information in the past. Such a claim is completely unfounded and untrue. I may have been misinformed, but I do not maliciously try to spread misinformation. But, the user above has blocked me, so I cannot continue the discussion with them one way or the other.
