For the final day of our Winter Wonderland Advent event, I present to you all something you've been asking for since before the species even launched...

A discord server!

Now, as an FYI the server doesn't have that many channels yet and is in more of a testing phase. We're not sure if we'll have the time to run it, or how exactly we're planning on running it. We're not even sure how many of you/how fast you'll join.
(IE, there's no meme channel, no place for fandom discussions, etc.) We're both unfortunately experienced discord mods, though, so it's not in a state of Disaster or anything.

Just know that new channels may be added / current ones deleted, and if it proves to be too difficult to manage on our own we may either look into getting volunteer moderators OR changing the server
structure so there's less things to moderate and it's easier to manage OR axing it entirely.

Still, we hope you have fun in there chatting and linking up! (And hopefully it's not unbearably busy after the first couple days...)

Please be patient with us in there! This is a kind of big undertaking for just two people, when our world has over 400 members. It may not be everything you're expecting. But happy new year guys!!

Hi! What's does "Unreality, including memes" mean from the rules? I googled the word and it just means "the quality of being imaginary, illusory, or unrealistic."the whole affair had an air of unreality", so I don't understand what that means in relation to the server? Isn't a closed species itself typically unrealistic? And made up? /gen

Usually, in the context of triggers, unreality would be anything along the lines of:

The idea that reality is a "simulation" and therefore not real (IE, the matrix is real/glitch in the matrix type comments), that reality is some sort of dream or coma and someone needs to "" wake up"" and join the real world (the "you are in a coma" copypasta/anything similar is a good example of this) - basically anything that would call into question an individual's perception of reality/imply that the world we live in is fake. Like, talking about sweetshifters isn't unreality. They're a fictional species and simply talking about fiction doesn't cause a person to question reality. But, idk, insisting sweetshifters are totally real and you have proof and you saw one and they definitely exist in our Real World - and continuing to say that even when people say they're not- probably WOULD be unreality. Not that anyone would do that, its a goofy ass example, but that's where the line would be between a fictional concept and unreality.

This is blacklisted because its a very common trigger for people with psychosis/etc. and we want to keep the space inclusive for them. It's not banning "fictional ideas that dont exist in our world" (IE, yes, the species is unrealistic, fiction and fake characters can be discussed 😭😭😭 this is the website for fake characters) just a very specific type of discussion about our lived reality.

Also (and this is such a minor addendum) we're a semi/open species

hopefully this makes sense!!! Idk I just woke up. sorry if the tone sounds harsh too i swear i dont mean to sound that way

OH no when you explain it like that it makes a lot more sense! I had never seen that term before so I just didn't understand. I appreciate your explanation. <3 You weren't harsh at all.
