What a find!

If you've followed me for a bit you know that I love dumpster diving, been doing it for years now... Not that I am endorsing it, you know, always do a shit ton of research into something before you jump into it because of the dangers and such... But with that out of the way, look what I found!! (:

Thrift store dumpster that always throws out their stuffed animals, This dude is a "Pillow Fort XL Dinosaur" And they have a lot of the smaller, weighted, variants online, but I'm having a bit of trouble finding a listing for the jumbo one:
(Such as this big boy)

This big boy didn't do anything wrong he was completely clean and brand new with tags! HE'S HUGE!!! Omg I can't imagine this being in a landfill somewhere!

Banana and foot for scale of this big boy, I've been complaining of cold feet while sleeping for a bit now, and I slept with this big guy on my legs last night after his bath and it sure did the trick this cold winter! (:

He's the perfect foot warmer for many nights to come! I ALSO FOUND THAT RED QUILT IN THE DUMPSTER?! It's a "puff quilt" and it's handmade! :D
IMG_0251.jpg?ex=65a70337&is=65948e37&hm=The dinosaur boy next to two other of my dumpster finds, well, the mousey girl I made out of a kids beanbag I found in the same dumpster, and the rabbit (I named him Lobotunny) was upcycled (I gave him new eyes and a new mouth and turned him into a purse) after I found him covered head-to-toe in God-knows-what... But he's all better now! How therapeutic to give these dudes a second chance ^^

These dudes are just a small fraction of stuffed animals I find in the dumpster, I recently also found a wolf, monkey, handmade rabbit, dog, squish mallow leopard, And I'm always finding new ones... What should I do with them? I don't leave a stuffed animal when I see one, because they have feelings too... ): Plus, I feel like it's almost the same as littering when something like this is thrown away when it can be reused!

So what should I do with the stuffed animals I DON'T want? Of course, I'm keeping dinosaur, rabbit, and mousey, but I get in... so many! I've been donating them after deep cleaning and fixing any holes, but maybe there could be something else I do with them?

Me too!! :D A fine addition to my stuffie collection!

Oh gosh, what a baby! I see a lot of "adoption" Twitters that clean up and resell discarded plushies and some that weight and scent them. Could be a fun way to get them new homes!

Adoption Twitters?? Now that's my first time hearing about that! I know I could pull off making a weighted and/or scented plush... That sounds like a great way to recycle these cuties! Thanks for the idea! I'll check it out!

Off the top of my head, I know I watch LilSproutCare (and have several of their weighted and scented plushies) and Oakley's Plush Rescue. I know I watch a few others, but their names escape me. I thought about cleaning up and rehoming plushies myself, but I get WAY too attached haha!

TRICERATOPS!! Stuffed animals are so fun but it’s so so sad to see them thrown out. I dont try to find ones too often but I’ve found a lot scattered around. I think donating them is fun but turning them into purses would also be fun ^^

I've had stuffed animals for as long as I could remember remembering (: I can't stand to see their cute little faces all sad and whatnot around trash, horror! I'm most likely going to see what to do with them on a case-by-case basis depending on the animal!

Sadly my biggest dumpster find in thrift stores is stuffed animals. Especially the types of stores that only seem to care about designer clothes, I feel like they can just re-donate them because I couldn't find a single reason why these dudes were thrown out! No smell, no stains, brand new with tags... I cringe at the thought of things like this clogging up some landfill, especially something as cute as this!
