Hello friends! I was bored and decided to fill out a character questionnaire, feel free to take these questions and fill them out, you don't have to post it or anything, but it's all fun to think about! (:

1: Who was your first character, and what inspired their creation?

Pipster was my first character, she was inspired simply by the fact I wanted to create my first character, (Because my older sister was doing it!) So at the age of 11, I gathered all my art stuff and ventured out into the barn in my backyard and climbed the loft, scribbling the most colorful cat/dinosaur/fox hybrid and then pinning her picture to the wood beam next to the barn window. It was such a sunny and bright morning (:

2: Which character is your favorite, and why?

Errr, I don't choose favorites, they're all so special to me in their ways that are different but just as important! I stared blankly at the wall for far too long at this distressing question so... next!

3: Which character do you relate to the most, and in what ways?

Look no further than my personas! The reason they all look so different is that they're heavily based on themes from my past, present, and a (hypothetical) future! For instance, Mipsy is based on a lot of my childhood, And Weepy Willy is more of the current day! ... good lord! Shout out to all the Mipsys out there that turned into Weepy Willies!

4: Which character was the most challenging to develop, and what made them so?

Gage Trussel and Landon Winslow were the most difficult to write. I think I redid their entire concept and profiles countless times. It was as emotionally taxing as it was therapeutic, (I was/am struggling with a new cognitive issue and this was/is one of the many ways I expressed that, art is the best therapy for me!)

5: Do you have a character that underwent the most significant transformation from their initial concept? What changed, and why?

Like, who changed the most from the concept to the current day? Hmmm...
Friendly! (Sorry his profile is private right now) He's not even recognizable from his original "Concept" Yellow Jacket, different personality, design, and a complete shift in character!

6: Which character's backstory is your favorite to tell or explore?

OOOH OOOH OOH, THATS EASY, DAVEY LUSKEY!!! Holy crap this dude has like, a trillion different variants that I had to make 2 separate profiles for his other versions and then explore those versions ^^

Errr, you could say Davey was a teeny tiny bit routine-changing, (He re-awakened my love for Friday the 13th and we all know how that went!) - I never would have gone to conventions without him :0 And hopefully many more conventions to come! (We're working on a kid Jason doll V2 now!)

So back to Davey! To answer the question, I love rambling about him! - Oh! And don't go diving into his story, because I'm about to do a re-write with a key element change! (It's a good one I know it is, no spoilers!) I'm so excited to start!
One spoiler: He's getting a new variant... (:

7: How do you go about naming your characters, and which character's name are you particularly fond of?

I take several days or a few hours to name my characters because it has to, I don't know, have a reason to be named that I guess (: sometimes it's if the name fits their design, story, etc., or I keep the name they came with!

And sometimes I like to get you guys to help me, like how you helped me name the new guy, The Clown! Now he's got 5 names and they're all more special than a Google search because they came from you guys...  (:

My favorite character's name is Jackie of all trades! (My public clowning name is Jackie!)

8: Have any of your characters been inspired by real-life people or events? Can you share a story?

Most of them are based on me, things that happened to me, things I feel, or very close family! But sometimes I base them on real-life people!
But to share a story? Hmm, Hunter is loosely based on someone, or I guess you could say, based on the experience of looking for that someone. Maybe one day I'll talk about it, I would be open to it, but I don't know how to word it, it's pretty sad

9: Do you have a character who's particularly popular among your audience? What do you think appeals to them?

That's a tough question! I can't say for certain if you guys like any of them, but if I had to take a wild guess, I think you favor Scribbs and Mipsy! And if I'm right in my guess, I can't blame you! What's not to love about adorable puppies?! (:

10: How do your characters' relationships with each other drive their development and the story?

And last but not least, the 10th question and it's a good one! Character relationships are the single most important element to me about most characters! I'm constantly linking these guys together and finding out how they relate and interact with one another! (it helps with developing personality!) I'm a very story-driven person and if I don't have something to daydream about I'm not a happy camper! And when they are finally together and in their element and setting, they are impossible to separate! Like Pooh without piglet! Spongebob without Patrick! Phineas without Ferb!

Fun extra trivia:

I don't know how it happened but out of all my characters (300+) I have a crush on Kenny in particular. I will not further elaborate or share my fanfiction folder...

I've been partaking in live-action roleplay every night for 13 years now and with that amount of time, a few OCs are gonna sneak into it!

I've live-action roleplayed with a few of them, but here are the mains:

Pipster (On and off for 12 years)
Wishy-Washy and Grew-gag (On and off for years)
Davey Luskey (2+ years, ongoing)
Landon Winslow (1+ year, ongoing)
Gage Trussel (1+ year, ongoing)
The Clown (1 Month, ongoing)
 - And a bunch of canon characters/my LARP partner's characters, (13+ years, ongoing!)

Most of their mannerisms, story, and drawings come from live-action roleplay, it's why a lot of them have info dumps that are difficult to maneuver through - Soon I'll clean up I promise!!

I'm trying to reskin a spirit Halloween animatronic (Boogieman) to look like The Clown, the project is taking longer than expected because we're moving and things are chaotic and unworkable around the craft room ):
- Speaking of The Clown, he's the character I have the most IRL items for! (:

Well, that's all for now! Maybe one day I'll make a part 2 to this because if you know me you know I love running my mouth, rambling, and sharing way too much info (:

Hello! I made a curious cat, first time trying something like that, you never know when you might need one I guess!

Or just for fun? I don't know! .... Idk If I'm even doing it right

The app is basically for asking people questions anonymously, - that's weird! But could be useful (:

Don't feel obligated to ask anything, this is just open as another line of communication, even if it's an anonymous one ^^

Anyway, here's the link:

Video of my clown dolls of "The Clown"

Hello! I can't seem to take a good picture of my clown dolls to put on his Toyhouse profile, (And Toyhouse gifs are way too short) so I decided to make a haphazardly thrown-together video instead to put there (:

The clown dolls showcased are of The Clown, of course, so the usual warning of embroidered yarn blood ^^

Here's the video:

I wanted to show you the pattern that I made but sadly all three of them got thrown away ):

I think it would be a good idea to make a version of The Clown from the past when he was happy and healthy! I keep running out of the material to make his shirts though, it's such a hard pattern to find...

Fun fact!: The third clown doll's shirt is removable and he has embroidered ribs, abs, and pecs! Maybe I'll show that next time :D

The reason it's removable is because one day I hope I can find a more similar and accurate fabric to make the shirt more similar to the other two, what, did you think I made it removable for nefarious reasons?! Never!

I've been highly considering making a tutorial on how to make a doll similar to this, I feel like it's one of those "If an idiot like me can do it, anyone can do it!" type of easy thing (:

And the pattern is very easily customizable to make it into a simple anthro as well, however, I hadn't thought about simple and easy four-legged ones yet... Give me time, I'll think of something!

Oh! And all three of them use different techniques of embroidery! (First one is by machine, the second is hand, and the third is by sewing machine embroidery!)

Or if you just don't have the time, plushie commissions are still on the table (I've decided it would be friends-only when it does open, at first at least)

Have a good day/night!

What a find!

If you've followed me for a bit you know that I love dumpster diving, been doing it for years now... Not that I am endorsing it, you know, always do a shit ton of research into something before you jump into it because of the dangers and such... But with that out of the way, look what I found!! (:

Thrift store dumpster that always throws out their stuffed animals, This dude is a "Pillow Fort XL Dinosaur" And they have a lot of the smaller, weighted, variants online, but I'm having a bit of trouble finding a listing for the jumbo one:
(Such as this big boy)

This big boy didn't do anything wrong he was completely clean and brand new with tags! HE'S HUGE!!! Omg I can't imagine this being in a landfill somewhere!
IMG_0253.jpg?ex=65a70336&is=65948e36&hm=
Banana and foot for scale of this big boy, I've been complaining of cold feet while sleeping for a bit now, and I slept with this big guy on my legs last night after his bath and it sure did the trick this cold winter! (:

He's the perfect foot warmer for many nights to come! I ALSO FOUND THAT RED QUILT IN THE DUMPSTER?! It's a "puff quilt" and it's handmade! :D
IMG_0251.jpg?ex=65a70337&is=65948e37&hm=The dinosaur boy next to two other of my dumpster finds, well, the mousey girl I made out of a kids beanbag I found in the same dumpster, and the rabbit (I named him Lobotunny) was upcycled (I gave him new eyes and a new mouth and turned him into a purse) after I found him covered head-to-toe in God-knows-what... But he's all better now! How therapeutic to give these dudes a second chance ^^
696505_72edb.png
These dudes are just a small fraction of stuffed animals I find in the dumpster, I recently also found a wolf, monkey, handmade rabbit, dog, squish mallow leopard, And I'm always finding new ones... What should I do with them? I don't leave a stuffed animal when I see one, because they have feelings too... ): Plus, I feel like it's almost the same as littering when something like this is thrown away when it can be reused!

So what should I do with the stuffed animals I DON'T want? Of course, I'm keeping dinosaur, rabbit, and mousey, but I get in... so many! I've been donating them after deep cleaning and fixing any holes, but maybe there could be something else I do with them?

Hello Friends! (And happy new years)

I made another Clown plush!

This time with (Clean) dish rags! (because I was out of white fabric) And embroidered his face by hand instead of with my machine, to make him bigger! (My machine only does 4X4 size, and I wanted bigger)

I finally ran out of the fabric I used to make his shirt, bummer! and I can't seem to find a replacement online, (I got the cloth as a man's shirt while thrifting) Sooo.. I guess if I make another The Clown plush, it will have a different shirt...

So, that's why his sleeves are shredded in the new plush, I used what I had left ):

BUT THEN ONCE I GOT DONE, THEN CAME MY FAVORITE PART, BOILLLIINNGGGG HIIMM!!!

IMG_0238.jpg?ex=65a5be86&is=65934986&hm=IMG_0234.jpg?ex=65a5be86&is=65934986&hm=the-clown-boils.gif?ex=65a5c126&is=65934

Anyway... After he was done boiling in peppermint tea (Again) I took some pictures of him with the first Clown plush and put on his finishing touches (:

IMG_0247.jpg?ex=65a5be85&is=65934985&hm=IMG_0248.jpg?ex=65a5be85&is=65934985&hm=IMG_0249.jpg?ex=65a5be85&is=65934985&hm=

While he looks a bit shoddier and he's a lot more fragile, I think he looks a lot more vintage than the first one, even though the first one is sturdier and more well-put together (:

Things that improve your chosen craft

2 Votes I don't like getting out of my comfort zone
7 Votes I procrastinate by doing other things

Hello friends! I've had a lot on my mind lately, and one of those things is improvement in hobbies

I tried to think of all the time I noticed "Improvement" in my hobbies, so I made a list of things that seemed to help me.

Practice (Real practice)

I noticed improvements when I began to watch one or a few videos of my chosen craft every morning with my coffee, something I was unfamiliar with and out of my comfort zone. This was difficult because I love just clicking around for entertainment purposes while I drink my coffee, rather than watching something that would help me with what I want to do. It was difficult at first, but eventually, I got used to it. This may not work for you, so find something that does work. This can be great self-exploration to find what works for you.

Then you practice, practice. And here's something important, you will not feel like it. You cannot wait for motivation to come, that has never worked for me. When I draw, it's never because I feel like it. You just have to start, I am an extreme over-thinker, and to start drawing or animating, I have to shut my stupid brain off and just do it, and eventually, I get into it. I believe that's what "motivation" is.

Not caring what people think

This one is extremely important. I cannot stress enough how much this helped me. I used to hide all of my character's bios when I first joined Toyhouse, and in that time, I saw little improvement in my crafts. I was shy, I didn't want to share my ideas, and if you know me, you know a lot of my ideas are unpleasant, so of course I was shy! In fact, to this day, lots of my friends do not like some of my characters and stories, and that's ALRIGHT! (We are still friends!)

"Not caring" what people think DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BAD OR UNCARING PERSON! I use "Not caring" loosely, and for lack of a better word, yes, a lot of my friends don't like my stories or some of the things I draw, and I don't care what they think, in a KIND WAY!

I cannot stress this enough, if you have an idea, draw it, write it, and POST IT. I feel like lots of artists walk on eggshells around each other and censor all of their ideas, when you learn, kindly, not to care, you are truly free.

Because I know you. I know you've had an idea that you wanted to share, that you wanted to draw, that you wanted to write, and you didn't, because you were frightened, scared, you want to be loved! You didn't want to make anyone (hypothetically) upset, or you didn't want people to judge you, maybe you were feeling sad, angry, or just had an idea, and wanted to share that in art, but to be vulnerable? That's hard! It's much easier to hide, isn't it? ):

I promise it will be ok, share your ideas, be bold, it's going to be ok. I've seen a lot of people only share their ideas if someone else has done it first and has not received negative reactions to it, don't wait for that! Be the first! Do you know why? Because I know you have a good heart, good intentions, and creative ideas just waiting to come out, art is about expressing yourself, so don't hide it! (No matter how ugly or strange, unconfidence is a killer)

Experiment without judgment

Experiment without judgment, and find what works for you. Me, personally, I've always wanted to make animations, but I also have a very hard time with the concept of time. I cannot stand to waste too much of it, it gives me panic attacks, and animation? That takes a lot of time!! So, while online, I read lots of opinions of how tweening and rigged animation is ugly and not real animation, but... what appealed to me? It doesn't take as much time. So I started to learn it with my coffee anyway. Without judgment. I then did this concept with everything.

Do YOU want to do something but don't know where to start? Start looking into different ways to get to your goal, the path is not the same for everyone.

Do. It. Now.

If you say, "I will do it tomorrow" you most likely will not do it, I have been there, and still struggle with it, in fact, all of this "Advice" I'm telling you, I struggle with myself, I have not "Beat" any of these things, I'm still on this journey working on it myself. But my main advice, is it DO IT NOW. Do not wait until tomorrow, there might not be a tomorrow.

And won't it be exciting, when you do start now, and then you start again, and then eventually you look back, and go "Oh, well I'm glad I started a while ago, this is working finally out!"

Love what you do, you cannot fake it.

Find what you love, you cannot fake it. Me, personally, what drives me is my character's... I genuinely love them... Whenever I think about them I get excited and sometimes I experience butterflies, always have, it makes me want to be better for them, I improve only when I think of them because it's love that isn't faked. Whenever I feel disconnected from them, or when I'm depressed, I don't draw. I take a break and go to something else, and they are still there when I get back (:

And if you're thinking, "My characters?! I don't love those pieces of shit!" DONT WORRY. As I said with animation, everyone's path is different. Your reason to improve could be COMPLETELY different from mine and genuinely work for you, and it may not even be love, sometimes I improved greatly on sheer jealousy and hatred... (Hard to admit, but it's true.) And that was a long time ago, now it's love, but maybe sheer jealousy and hatred are your reason? (:

Anyway, that's that! I've just had a lot on my mind and wanted to share, maybe I'm wrong! But I hope some of this rambling, if you've gotten this far, helped you in some way, maybe it didn't and just caused some anxiety, (But even some anxiety can be a good sign! It all makes me anxious too!)

Go chase your dreams, find your path, don't be afraid, don't procrastinate, experience no judgment from yourself and others, and then look back years from now, and be glad you started!

And it will not come easy, things are hard, and that's ok, if I can ever help you with anything, don't be afraid to talk to me or others ^^

Walking at night can be dangerous, deadly even.

Posted 5 months, 6 days ago by BooZoo

Should I stop walking at night?

5 Votes Sorry, but you should stop walking at night
6 Votes Keep walking at night, but wear the clown mask
8 Votes Only stop walking if the mask doesn't work
4 Votes Other opinion (Comment)

Content warning: Discussion of being chased by an older man and "What could have been's", and honest discussion of patterns of what could have led me into dangerous situations. I discuss what I wore, and I brainstorm on how to prevent it in the future.

I like to go walking at night, many times I have been harassed, but twice I have genuinely feared for my life.
This is a frightening discussion, feel free to skip it.

I have a habit of walking solely at night, I always have ever since I was a little girl, to cope, because it's just so calming, so beautiful, the sun isn't in your eyes, it's quiet, the stars are out, looking into the universe and feeling that distant feeling like you're so small compared to all the stars out there, wondering if there's someone, or something, out there looking back. I get this fuzzy, warm, existential feeling in my chest that nothing else can replicate, and due to this, I walk at night.

But the people on earth are relentless, my poor mother has been worried too many times after I call her in a panic, someone is following me, people are stopping their cars beside me on the highway, and the most scary one, an older man I didn't know chased me in the woods and tried to hunt me down, I had to hide behind a tree and listen to his footsteps gets closer and closer until my savior (my mom) pulled up in her car, I had to run toward her car while he chased me. It was one of the most scary things to happen in my life.

And once again, tonight, I was stalked again, not to the scary degree as last time, but it brought up that panic in me of, "Oh no, this is happening again, and this time I might not escape."

A white car circled the playground I was swinging in, it was night, and he stopped in front of me as I swung and watched me for three minutes. ( I knew that because that's how long the song I was listening to was ) I was frozen in fear, and I made a quick move to grab my purse to get my phone after the song was over, and boom, the second I reached for my purse, it sped off, sped off so quickly like I had pulled out a gun or something.

Then, it clicked.

I finally noticed a pattern.

The worst situations only happened when I dressed a lot younger than my actual age. A chill went down my spine.

The scariest time it happened, I was wearing a girlish cat onesie that covered my head, paired with rose stretch pants, this was when I was chased in the woods. (Pic that I thought would be the last picture I ever took, this was the woods, and those headlights were the man's car still in park because he jumped out of his car to chase me)

The second time (last night) it happened when I had slight vintage clown makeup on with bright rosy cheeks, a long red wig, and an oversized clown sweater. The car pulled up within 10 minutes of me being there at the park. (It was also around 3-4 AM)

With that in mind, I just assume I look like an even younger girl with those types of kiddish outfits on, especially from far away. (Like in a car) An "Easy target" for some sick people.

So, if I don't want to stop walking at night, I need to change tactics, I don't want someone to harm me. I don't want to leave my friends... But I don't want to stop walking at night, on good nights, it's the most calming, happiest place I could be. My happy place.

So I tried out something risky, something I had never done before or seen others do, I picked a clown mask, I have several, but I picked this one because it's just in the middle of "Scary" and "Goofy" and wore it to the park for a few nights, and just as I suspected, not a single person bothered me. No cars, no people... and for the first time, I felt safe. I wasn't an easy target anymore, I was a scary person.

So, what do you think friends? Is this the last straw? Should I take this latest event as a final warning to never go walking at night again, or should I take the bold (Possibly a good idea, possibly extremely stupid) idea of wearing clown/ski masks when I go walking at night?

I checked the mask law in my state, and it says wearing any kind of mask is legal as long as you aren't committing a crime wearing it. But DO NOT TRY THIS, I still haven't tested it enough, you never know, I could get shit from the police, so do not try this, but if it works in the long run, I will make an updated post. But if something bad happens, I'll also update.

But one thing is for sure, if this mask thing doesn't work, I am never walking at night again.

Any name suggestions for this decrepit clown?

Hello friends!

I got bored and anxious (as per usual) and wanted to distract myself, so I sewed a clown! No pattern, I just made him up as I went, putting all of my pent-up rage, worries, and tears, into this clown (:

So, because of that, he's looking pretty sickly! I couldn't for the life of me come up with a name for him, so I thought I would see if anyone has some suggestions,

CW This clown has a bit of embroidered blood on him :0
1320610_aa628.png
IMG_0138.jpg?ex=658f624c&is=657ced4c&hm=
Here's the little decrepit sad man! And no, that's not actual grim on him, that's simulated grim, after he was finished I put him in a pot of peppermint tea to get a more vintage, worn look :D So he smells like peppermint, not mothballs! ^^
IMG_0137.jpg?ex=658f624d&is=657ced4d&hm=Shhhh clown, no worries, only dreams now

Like I said above, I made the pattern myself, I think my favorite design element about him is his little braided beard (:
IMG_0135.jpg?ex=658f624d&is=657ced4d&hm=Guys I think he's dead ):

To embroider his face, I scribbled a design in MS Paint and then embroidered it using our embroidery machine ^^
IMG_0126.jpg?ex=658f624e&is=657ced4e&hm=Earlier pic of our poor clown friend, (Before he got his cone nose) being boiled in peppermint tea! Oh no! ):
IMG_0132.jpg?ex=658f624d&is=657ced4d&hm=
He was originally supposed to have a jester hat but it was scrapped in favor of a cone hat (that is not finished painting at the moment)
IMG_0139.jpg?ex=658f65e7&is=657cf0e7&hm=

The concept sketches for our poor clown friend
1432321_73ca4.png

So yeah that's the gist of it, he's 95% complete, all he needs is a name now, I've referred to him as "Cramps" and "Crampy" a few times, but I wasn't 100% sold on that name.

What's known about the clown so far:

He enjoys peppermint tea and coffee (Or maybe not since I boiled him in it) Or perhaps he often drops his favorite drinks on his lap (:

He seems to be in some kind of pain, and he is not happy about that, which is very unusual for a clown with sharp teeth, they usually look very happy about being covered in blood!

He's very floppy and easily bendable, very pathetic, and easy to toss across the room and into a trash can. (Not that I've done that...)

If he does end up with multiple names, it could perhaps be because he's forgotten his true identity due to the pain, and will just blurt out what he thinks his name is at the time, perhaps, That may be if he ends up with more than one name (:

Edit: Throughout the day I've addressed him by all of the suggested names without even thinking about it, so it's official, he has multiple names! ^^ Thanks everyone! :D

Saving Dagger Mike + Other animatronics

Posted 7 months, 1 day ago by BooZoo

Who's your favorite?

1 Votes Dagger Mike
7 Votes Heckles The Clown

2 Votes Carnival Barker

Hello friends!

This time around last year I discussed saving a
Grinch Animatronic from the trash, he's currently out-of-service due to a snapped wire, but I'm working hard and talking to people online about how to fix him (:

In the meantime, I was walking around Spirit Halloween and noticed a group of kids shaking and beating a Dagger Mike animatronic they had for display, and I felt bad for the little guy ):

I mean, those things go for 160 dollars and you're just letting your kids beat it like a punching bag? I'm surprised they had Mike standing in a place where employees couldn't see, if you've ever been in a Spirit Halloween you'll know that there's this castle-like structure you go into, away from employee's eyes where they keep some of the smaller animatronics. Can't have anything nice, people will just break it!!

And that's exactly what happened because a few days later I walked in and they had that same Dagger Mike animatronic standing by the cash register with a note on him that said "Doesn't work" with a 50% off his price tag.

So, coincidently, earlier that day I had been watching a bunch of animatronic repair videos because of my Grinch breaking down, and I actually knew a lot about how Sprit Halloween robots worked... So, I bought him in hopes of repairing him myself.

Dagger Mike in his new home... Once I get him repaired, who's laughing now?! 50% off a sold-out animatronic! I wanna customize him a bit, perhaps a bruise here and there, perhaps some black hair (Because he looks like a little old man when he's supposed to be a kid according to his Wiki) Suggestions for customization are welcome (:

Picture of Dagger Mike leaving his prison, I had a conversation with the manager while checking out and he told me poor Mike was getting beat regularly and was probably the reason he stopped working... which, wasn't true when I examined him when we got home...
IMG_7726.jpg?ex=654a838f&is=65380e8f&hm=AND LOW AND BEHOLD THE REASON HE'S NOT WORKING WHATSOEVER, SOMEONE STOLE HIS ENTIRE POWER BOX! GOODDDDD

I contacted "Dr. Zombie" (The technical support for Spirit Animatronics) And they said they currently don't have any Dagger Mike power boxes because he's completely sold out... ): However! He said they usually get more after Halloween and if they do we can have it for free (:

Let's hope they do so I can get this murder munchkin working again!

So that's currently where I am with repairing Dagger Mike... Now here are some of our other animatronics :D
