not the AI bit but hey its alleged and not involved in palworld so idk what to say abt it ngl

and sure some look like mons but i think its funny to be mad over that when pokemon designs ripped dragon quest first so shrug!!!!!!!

i think both franchises are nice and cool idrk what else to say on it

edit: i play on xbox so the preview isnt the highest tier like on PC but its still fun with even the higher mass of bugs

that and i just hope pokemon will see more creature games like palworld release and explode with success that theyll start stepping up and produce higher quality and actually finished products again (and hopefully no more horrid remakes like bdsp...)

I dont shame people for enjoying it but the fact that they ripped pokemon designs just in general is really disgusting. Like even if. 80% are original, they still were absolutely fine fluffing their numbers with Cinderace but green. The monster collection genre really does need more competitors to pokemon! So I really hope some other good games will come out in the future. 

If anyones looking for other good games in the genre, i highly reccomend coromon!

i have not played the game as the devs have used ai in like an art related game allegedly which doesnt sit right with me--but the game imo looks like it was supposed to like... sort of be making fun of pokemon? so i think that kind of voids what people are complaining about cuz thats literally the point of it. nd tbh pokemon has all the power to do smth about it if they rlly want to so im not gonna concern myself bout it. if pokemon was a small indie game itd be much different but its huge and makes tons of money so it probably wont affect them much

Don't plan on playing, but I think the concept is funny. It's so over the top that honestly it surprised me when people compared it to Pokemon like it was a competitor. No doubt it's taking inspiration from the game, but it reads like a parody to me. The designs coulda used a little more love, but considering it's not a big production I'm impressed with what they did manage, plus I just don't get the impression that was the Dev team's main priority. I think their goal was taking the idea of making little guys fight and pushing that concept to it's extreme with guns and warfare. Considering what I've heard about the quality I hope it makes companies like Pokemon realize they need to step it up, because trying to push out a new game every year is only making the quality worse and I think people are getting tired of it.

people are definitely allowed to enjoy it, but i'll stick with pokémon. to me it's just a bad rebrand of pokémon-- almost every "pal" i've seen is either just multiple pokémon smashed together and recolored or a single pokémon slightly edited to look a little different then recolored... even the typing is almost completely stolen.

it's pretty weird to me considering digimon was created with a similar concept to pokémon -- and although digimon has often been accused of being a rip-off, they have really managed to make their franchise without directly stealing from pokémon (as far as i know). it should also be noted that nintendo is very aware of palworld and is investigating the company/game, as the pokémon franchise has always been extremely careful about who is using their intellectual property without permission.

 and the creator of palworld supports ai usage as far as i know... so i will not be touching it.

Personally, I’m not interested at all in survival games. I like the creature collector aspect of it but not the rest. Some of the designs are really great, unique, cute, etc. Others are such close representations of Pokemon, like the example you posted up above- which I don’t like. I also don’t like the absolute toxicity that has been brought out in the pokemon community due to this. I can absolutely respect a small company being successful, but for me it feels like a large amount of the success comes from the fact that their initial coining of the game was stated as “Pokemon with guns”. Regardless of the state of recent Pokemon games, I’ve been a fan since the beginning and I will continue to be, buy their games, and play them as my favorite games. I do agree though, that they could put more effort into a better game. So in short, I’ll never play palworld.

it gives me uncanny vibes which was the first reason i stayed away from it, then learning the game was apparently a reskin of an older game of theirs rubbed me the wrong way, it's ok people are allowed to enjoy it since it fills a niche people wanted, just not something i feel i could tolerate playing ^^

I haven't actually played it myself yet but the designs are absolutely amazing from what I've seen! Sadly I don't have a pc that can run palworld atm, but i'll defo be playing once i can to look at all the cutie designs 💖💖

i wish some of the designs they spent more time making them unique and different from pokemon, but i think the game itself is pretty fun and it seems fairly good quality (considering early access/wtv)

what'll really matter to me is how they decide to move forward with fixing things and adding content 

it just is really disappointing that pokemon has such a high budget and reach yet still produces kinda eh games, so hopefully they see that a smaller studio/company can make a better game and decide to step up their game
