i voted other and am seconding someone else who suggested VGen ! anyone can make an account, but you do need a code to be able to post on there - and from a "selling comms and adopts" perspective is amazing once you do have a code. for communication ive heard facebook has some good communities for adopts, although idk how many people use facebook these days, and how large these communities are? id tentatively suggest instagram, but we all know how unkind the algorithm is, sigh. althrough algorithm aside, its probably one of the best out of the twitter-instagram-facebook trio, in my opinion at least heh

although all in all it kinda depends on in which way you want to communicate *nods*

I've heard Facebook is really good for adoptables, as for general commissions and such, if you can get an invite, definitely go for Vgen, it's a really good place right now for commissions and to my knowledge people who post there tend to get a decent amount of traction/buisiness. But like everything else I think it's really all about how you advertise yourself/your work. I think those are the best go-tos though

I personally think you'd like VGEN especially if you're looking for somewhere profitable :0 But if you're wanting somewhere with an easier way to access communication between ppl who follow you and such definitely facebook or discord! Discord's got a ton of servers for art and comms to try new places and meet new people ^^ I have a few suggestions if you'd like them for communities there! (Facebook and Twitter still scare me it's so many people so I don't have any for there unfort 🛐)

Isn't Bluesky open for everyone now? Maybe this would something you could try :3 

I would say twitter personally. The notification system really works and the retweet system helps artists out alot. I say once you find a good community you are pretty much good to go. I think it's the starting off that's worse but since you've got us it isn't that bad. Also hashtags do work too and you don't have to put loads.

I've never bothered with Facebook my entire life, it's just been a mess there with hackers as well. DA is just dead and no longer interesting, LOT of good artists have left it. Twitter has gotten worse, and a lot of friends have nothing to do with Facebook tbh in end these days.

Instagram is nice. Not hard to just ignore the harshness directed, block or disable commenting or DMs. Tho personally I've grown into just using n loving toyhouse xD But if I had to move or express, Instagram. Can always look into Tumblr too but that place always been confusing for me lol ik some artists also do furaffinity n stuff, not sure anymore these days tbh

Ngl the only thing i can actually think that's good is discord bc Instagram is harsh on artists that are trying to grow, facebook- well its mainly used by elderly/older generation, devianatart supports AI so your art may get used innit, twitter is toxic.
