SO browsers of my folders may have seen that I did a mass clear out of my folders and then had trading bulletins for my unsorted after (which, btw, should I do again or wait a bit?)

BUT I recently had a development breakthrough of Mandatory, and have further organized the characters as I provide you with the revamped(?) story.

When I first published Heart of Glass, my first book of Strong Hearts Are Mandatory I tried a lot to listen to the criticisms and while still maintaining the structure of the story, keep it in mind for the future books, but it has come to the point that Heart of Glass is now approaching it's 7 year anniversary and I've decided to start a new rendition of it geared more as a Children's Book (32 page, fully illustrated book) done in my toony style, with significantly less blood spilling.

I've actually posted two of the illustrations here on Toyhouse, and wanted to showcase them a bit as an idea of what to expect.

However, condensing a 200 page book into 32 pages doesn't come without sacrifices. I've cut down on a lot of characters and what I feel is unnecessary details of the story, and I've felt so happy with the final product, that I decided I want the animated series to go in this direction too, to make it manageable for the 11 minute episodes I plan for the story.

So I have updated the Animated Series folder to only include the characters that appear in the children's book rendition, and now added a Book 1 and Book 2 folder in the Book Series folder.

What does this entail for the book series?

The book series I want to stay true to little 14-18 year old me's ideas and I won't be changing the format for the last two books (5 and 6) and keep going as planned, however, the animated series was always planned to only cover Heart of Glass and Straight to Video, so I can now focus the content easier for the animated on just what happens in those two books with using the children's book rendition as an outline, and then basing the episodes off of this version instead of the books now.

This way I can still have the book series complete, and then have an even easier time with the webseries! I am super excited about this and I hope you all enjoy what's to come! The finished illustrations in the book will also have backgrounds, etc. but it's cute posting them with their transparent bg here xD

Does this change anything about Deviate, Of Events Prior, Origins, or The Main Hiatus?

For now I am not sure since I don't have to worry about OEP, Origins, to TMH, since they're not anything I have to think about until after book 6, as for Deviate I'm gonna finish chapter 1 in its regular style then do the second chapter in a simpler style inbetween toony and my regular style and I'm super excited for it! X3

Thank ya'll for reading and I hope you are chill with the changes! ♥ I'd love to hear your thoughts, otherwise I'll just keep doing what I'm doing 🤔

YAY I AM SO GLAD <333 thank you it means a lot! >u<

I'M SO EXCITED OMG???? Also this an absolutely brilliant opportunity for you and hopefully takes a lot of stress off the shoulders. <3

AHHH thank you that means a lot!! ;w; <333 IK I think I'm really going to be happy with this xD

I can't get over what a neat idea the comic will be. Maybe one day you could make a version of the first book with a couple of the pages from the comic or even make a bundle that includes the comic too.

It feels like you were figuring out something you wanted to do a bit before you made the toon designs and ever since then, I feel like you've become reinvigorated!

Oh that'd be cool, Deviate (the comic) is entirely different from the main story and is a spin off so it'll maybe be published on its own! The children's book will be like the 32 page children's book which tell stories a bit differently than comics https://amzn.to/432fTeo or https://amzn.to/3wFIcTR or https://amzn.to/3wJnByc (examples that majorly inspired me)

Thank you! ^ ^ It's really given me a boost!

This sounds so cool! The toony style is so cute, so the kid’s version I know will be just awesome!

YAAAY I am so glad you enjoy it, honestly it makes me SO happy to work with XD

IK, there are a few kids there who are just so creative and avid readers and it'd be so fun to make a story for them that they enjoy, there's a ton of kids who also enjoy the Amazing Digital Circus and other youtube web pilots so I'm hyped if I can make them something that interests them, too HEHE thanks so much for your support and I'm glad you like the idea!

Omg your toony style is so adorable! This sounds like it would be super cute to read! I always found myself opening your ToyHouse to search for the characters while I read. While I personally don't mind longer reading, and I adored the detailed descriptions of everything that truly immersed you into the world, an illustrated book would definitely be a nice take! 🩷

YAY THAT makes me so happy to hear, no worries, you'll still get that with Overcoming Adversity (book 5) and Shadow of Doubt (book 6) but It's nice to have a more friendly version now that I work with kids who are curious about my projects and characters xD I'm glad you think it'd be nice and it helps me feel more motivated! Ty for your comment!
