HI SO. Recently someone brought to my attention the mcdonalds boycott that is apparently happening?? And I didn't know + had posted a burger bulletin recently saying I liked mcdonalds ocs.

Basically, mcdonalds supportssssss israel. Which. WWHOOOOOOO boy AWESOME we live in a capitalist hell world.
To clarify I don't actually support mcdonalds; I like the aesthetic of the mcdonald's playplace and stuff because I like kidcore n stuff and I go thrifting n I see toys a lot of mcdonalds junk. Even before I knew abt the boycott I didn't like mcdonalds as a company for numerous reasons (but then again... who likes big companies?) but i feel now especially it's important to remove the branding from my OCs.

Be critical of all companies, do not support mcdonalds directly (if you are able, I know a lot of places it's the fastest cheapest food you can get) and know that my ocs with their imagery is not a direct endorsement!!!! Remember to shop locally if you are able and kiss a sea turtle.
I will be changing all of my oc's mcdonalds logos; was gonna do it anyways eventually. The old art will still remain public but know I do not endorse or want to give them free advertisement.
As well, abt palestine and why I haven't posted... anything ever abt it--
I don't talk abt "politics" much here (though I don't consider israel's genocide political), the reasons being;
1. im an idiot.
2. i feel like posting abt super important topics on my furry blog. Kinda... cheapens the problems if that makes any sense? IDK if it does but that's how I feel. Like I always feel like by talking about issues like these it just makes it seem like I'm posting a black square on instagram-- like I'm not helping the cause but actively harming it bc I'm so goofy and stupid. I'm not trying to take the attention from these large problems onto me + using activism to boost my public image or w/e
But the palestine stuff I do feel is a bit different. If you have not researched it-- there's a genocide happening rn in gaza done by israel-- I can't explain it, I don't have the words- There's so much to be seen + know about and I am not the person to educate anyone on the topic.

It's hard when the world around you seems to be crumbling, I know. And there's nothing me or you can really do other than donate pennies and share information, but it's better than nothing. And this mcdonalds stuff gives me an excuse to say that if you are able (and I know. A lot of people on here are disabled / autistic like me and cannot directly physically do much) protest and vote and stay as knowledgeable as you can.
I'm not a smart person-- Again, why I've not posted abt this. I'm not looking to debate or preach at all but I do want people to research these things, maybe post a bulletin in your own words, join a local peaceful protest, donate, whatever is in your capabilities.
I have been meaning to do a fundraiser for the Palestinians but again. Stupid hour, ive never done a fundraiser before and I have no idea where to begin or what the best avenues would be (like who exactly to donate for + if my mother would let me as she helps me with my cashapp and paypal). BUT I do plan on now doing one once we've vacc'd the kittens andmy queue is done, one with a burger theme :)

As someone who LOVES your burger designs, even if they're branded they're not giving any money to McDonald's as a business so I don't see a reason that they would be against the boycott as it's a financial divestment. That being said you can do whatever you're comfortable with :) I think it's really good that you're at least aware of what's happening in Gaza. I don't post about it on toyhouse specifically because I don't have much of a following (most of my followers on here are my friends) but I post about it a lot on Instagram where I have my biggest following. I think that it's important to bring awareness to it no matter what you normally post about, as long as it's about helping Palestinians and not just for yourself. If you're looking to do something for charity/fundraising for the cause, I'd suggest what I see other people doing. Find an existing gofundme, a charity or a fundraiser, and if you're doing something like a ych for example you can get people to be required to pledge a minimum amount to get one (only set a minimum so people are encouraged to donate more if they want to!) and then they can comment/ send proof of their pledge ! And you give them the ych ! That way you aren't having to learn/manage your own individual fundraiser/money for it and can still support with your audience! (Lmk if this doesn't make sense I'm typing on a train rn)

You have no idea how important it is that you are being cautious with this. Some of these political problems and wars are incredibly serious, lots of people are dying, and colourful furry blogs are NOT the best place to talk about them especially since alot of people do use it as an ego booster (notice how they usually stop talking about it as soon as people stop being interested). It really says alot about your character that your able to view these things in a serious light and take steps to not make it about you (like so so many people do), yet still bring light to it and post links to people who are actually informed. RIDICULOUSLY mad respect 🙏🙏
