"Once every blue moon, on the peak of the harvest tide... There is a rumor that Leviathan, the god, chooses worthy sea terrors to bless with an ancient power that defies any and all laws of physics."

NEW Anomaly Trait — ELEMENTAL

The second trait in the Anomaly Tier!

79210307_EA2r8HAKbfrWNeh.png

  • Elemental — The Dreadnaut possesses distinctive traits that fall under the 'elemental' category. These elements are flexible and can be applied to any required trait on the naut. (Sea terror, mimics, even pearls.) Elements like ice, fire, lightning all fall under this trait; but that's not all, elements such as land/non-sea plant growth, metal/mineral growth (natural mineral growth not caused by external environmental influence), and many more can fall under this category as long as they are organic and not man-made.

What are Anomalies?

  • Anomalies are a separate rarity that is much higher than Decayed. Designs in this category have almost no limitations on what is and is not allowed. (All-common traits + decayed traits, gravity defying mimics, mech sea terrors, etc.) It doesn't matter what rarity an Anomalous naut is, because 1 trait will be enough to categorize them into the Anomaly rarity. They do not come in the form of slots.

How will these new Anomaly Traits be work?

  • These new Anomaly traits will function differently from the known Common and Decayed slots. Anomaly will come as a set of traits that can individually be acquired only through GA/official adopts for the mean time. These traits are in a higher tier than Decayed rarity, so they are unusable for any MYOs.
  • This trait (and every anomaly trait introduced in the future) will be listed down at the 'Anomalies' section of the written traits guide, along with a short description and the months they were released on!
  • Anomalies only apply to Non-CB Dreadnauts. Any trait that resembles ‘anomalies’ in CBs are considered traits of the other species and not the dreadnaut’s.

How do they apply in lore?

  • According to the latest research, anomalies are the prime evidence that point to the existance of the 'Primordials'* which are much stronger beings from prehistoric times. They are the ancestors of the sea terrors we all know today, but their unknown powers have long since disappeared from the gene pool. These 'Anomalous' dreadnauts are said to be direct predecessors of the primordials, and are few of the very rare instances where they managed to keep the long lost traits. Scientists are working hard to uncover more of these powers and may reveal new traits in the future.
  • *Primordial Sea Terrors are not a rarity tier nor a sub-species. They merely exist for lore and are canonically extinct.
