The following night, she disappeared. Howl adopted a new mantra around this time. As she searched the forest for Mona: 'you f'in idiot'. Dragging Mona's body out of the lake: 'you f'in idiot'. As her humanity is painfully ripped away in exchange for Mona's soul being absolved of eternal damnation: 'you f'in idiot'. Waking up cold, lifeless only to see Mona's spirit scrutinously watching her. Simultaneously:  'you f'in idiot'.
