Well, I'm subscribed to protonoise, but other than that relation, nope. I think I stumbled across This One on the featured part of the homepage, so I'd guess it was a sort of chain reaction: someone favorited the character recently, so they showed up on my featured page, and then I favorited them, and so forth. It is an interesting circumstance though!
