Even if you don't qualify for Medi-Cal outright (like say your income is too high), you may qualify for 'reduced Medi-Cal', assistance, or a really good plan that won't bankrupt you. I would recommend talking to someone about it, if you have a Medi-Cal office nearby.

Have you looked into Medi-Cal? I'm in California, and that's what I use. It's pretty excellent (I'm under Care1st). Dental, vision, psych, it's all covered.
