I personally do it for two reasons. I dealt with a good deal of art theft in the past, including tracing, and also I don't use toyhouse as a social media so my characters aren't really there for other people and are mostly only there for me to have a space to work on and develop them, and having archive of all of the art I have of them in one place for MY OWN benefit, so I have all of my images set to thumbnail only for anyone who's unauthorized, and I have a good sized watermark for authorized users. I will authorize somebody if I'm doing something like getting a commission or authorizing a character, but as soon as whatever I authorized them for is over, I take them off of my authorization list immediately.
