Great question! Short answer is no, but in relation when it comes to Pokémon OCs, I'd say pretty much so! I often tried my best to make Terrier and Gnawbag have the same style as what the main Pokémon artists do when it comes to appearances, and I pretty much love that franchise a lot! Sure, I'm no kinds of master of knowing much about the game, but I've grown to it in my heart as a kid and I became a huge fan of every Pokémon on the list I'm still thinking of drawing a Crawdaunt OC for the first time.. they're still one of my favorites!
