The movements weren't lost on Chase, who carefully observed as he settled into his seat. "It's a very big difference, isn't it?" he asked. "This room, therapy. It's a lot of changes that can overwhelm anyone. What you're doing right now, go ahead and keep doing that. Look around and take in your surroundings. Move your torso, if that helps. It helps to see that there's nothing here to harm you." His expression turned sympathetic. "Although that might be difficult in your case, wouldn't it?"
There was no clipboard on Chase. He instead crossed his legs and laced his fingers in front of his stomach, choosing instead just to talk rather than note. He'd read everything he'd needed to prior, anyway, and the case behind this man... It was astonishing how his mental sanity had stayed intact.
Chase motioned to the scars. "You've been through quite a lot. There's a lot of pain behind each of those, and a lot of loss and grief." He removed his scarf to reveal the large scar against his cheek, yet still he smiled lightly. "I have one too. You're not alone. I don't expect you to tell me the stories behind those now, but would it help if I told you about mine?"

(This boy needs so much therapy, as do most of my characters to be honest xD )

Wraith seemed to sink deeper into the seat, hoping to disappear into it as he wrapped his coat further around himself, almost like it would provide some sort of security. He listened to Chase quietly, his ears twitching every now and again as he heard sudden noises from outside. He gave the older man a sharp look when his scars were mentioned, however his expression softened slightly when he saw the man's scar and he found himself relaxing every so slightly. At least there was some form of understanding between them.

The shifter tilted his head to the side slightly at the question. "Why would you share your story if you are not obligated to?" He asked, suspicion in his voice as he kept his arms crossed over his chest, still in a guarded position.

(Chase is here to help KEKEK)

"Why do you believe I'm not obligated to?" Chase asked while folding his scarf. "Do you believe me to be in a position of power? It's only the two of us here. We're equal. And why would anyone want to share a story with someone unwilling to do the same?" He looked at Wraith and smiled warmly at him.
