In procreate, which is where I sketch out most of my designs first, I like using the built in water pen brush and the sketching pencils! I do tweak these from time to time so they're not quite the original settings. But I always recommend making duplicates of brushes to change the settings up anyways!! You can really make some neat and unique effects.
When I'm on PC, I use Clip Studio Paint. My favorite brush that I use for almost anything is the Woody Pencil - it's a free custom brush (which you can find in the clip asset store) made by Rompi. If you just search "woody pencil" it should be the first one that shows up ^__^ I also really like the gouache brush that comes with CSP for mixing colors.
