Where do you prefer to have your OC info written?

I wanna hear about how or where everyone else keeps all of their detailed OC info... I want some inspiration! But i am also quite curious to see what most people on this website do.

Personally, I keep the bulk of mine in google doc files with some smaller tidbits written down in the trivia/notes section or in my personal discord server. A lot of my oc info is kept in my head though, bc there are some things i feel as though i'm forgetting to include or i dont know how to put it into words LOL. the little nuances.....

(also if theres a thread like this that already exists pls let me know...)

For me its mostly toyhouse and a little bit of just in my head, but my memory is horrible so i try to write everything down as soon as possible before i forget

vriska

it's mostly on toyhouse, but i have some story outlines written in journals and a lot of it is in my head!

Applejack

It's mostly Toyhouse and in my head but I try to write anything I got in Toyhouse before I forget ;v;

I love talking about ocs with my boyfriend and anyone else that likes hearing me talk about them as it helps me develop characters better by asking about them and such!

Most of my oc info is either in toyhou.se, in my head somewhere until I forget it, or comes from crack-fueled conversations with my friends.

Toyhouse + message logs

I have a small notebook with some lore for some of my OCs that I did in class but I lose things quite frequently.

sonikkuruzu

A mixture of my head, Toyhouse and a bunch of WordPad files.

Mostly on toyhou.se, I have some info about my ocs  written on my computer, phone or just my head which I may often forget, but if I have written it somewhere I may not forget that much. But I mostly prefer to write on toyhou.se as soon as I can so I will not forget any details. In my head is mostly a mess, ideas and imagination that I can no way put into words

for the most part in my head. there are just characters and backgrounds I could never forget about so I don´t fear losing something. I have stuff written down as well on Toyhouse but the majority is in my head.

I use Toyhouse a lot but most of it is just in my head LOLOLOL. That’s it, that’s how stuff works for me LOL-

I have a number of friends that love my characters, lore, and stories, so I have a discord server where I document everything and they can read it too. :)

Google Docs is mostly where I keep information about characters. There's two reasons for that. One reason is that I have characters spanning back years before I ever discovered ToyHouse. The other reason is that when I am writing info so I don't forget, it can get extremely jumbled and hard to understand. So when I put a character on ToyHouse, the info that is on the document goes in their profile, except I spend the time to organize to where it's easy on the eyes to others reading it. To put things basically, my Google Doc is my rough-draft and my ToyHouse profiles are my final-draft.

Depending on the age of the character (since creation) there MAY be a hard copy of their information written in notebooks. That's mostly because the character's existence predated when my school got laptops (I often wrote lore for my characters during free-time in classes).

(can I select multiple answers? lol)

I mostly use google docs bc I can write in my phone and computer! it makes stuff easier

But I also write down stuff in my sketchbook if the idea suddenly pops out or I'm just trying to brainstorm!! I think google docs or any other similar service is the best tbh, I just pass stuff to toyhouse when I'm feeling confident abt it!
