a character's pronouns

this character i have, araa

they're nonbinary

but in forum games they keep getting called "he"

i don't really know how to make it more obvious

At first I couldn't even find them, but then I realized that I had to scroll down to see it. Maybe that's the problem? Don't really know how to fix it, maybe add them somewhere else?

When posting them in forum games maybe place their pronouns next to them? I know how some people don't read profiles so they might not even be reading that section ;;;

i.e: Here's araa! They go by they/them btw!

I hope people start using the correct pronouns for araa tho!!

I'm gonna be real with you my dude I think it's gonna have to be on the people who don't actually read profiles to be the ones that change n stop being lazy and not you, because in my own experience there isn't much you can really do. You're basically doing as much as you can without it being ridiculous.

See my character I have IC, Dean. Her profile is 2 sentences long (as I'm not finished with her full one yet) using "she" and affirming that she is in fact a girl(recent addition because I got tired) and she is tagged "F" for u know "Female". All people do however is take one look at her name and go "male!" I can't tell you the last time someone I didn't know/wasn't friends with called Dean by her actual gender and pronouns.

Hope people start paying more attention to ur character's pronouns though. They're a cutie!

another tactic could be to add the pronouns to the displayed avatar, though this can be difficult for visibility reasons unless you specifically devise a way for them to be more accessible, eg adding a black background to white text and putting it at the bottom, but this can interfere with what you see in the avatar, so this is mostly a personal choice, tbh. i see this works on facebook a lot (obviously excluding deliberate transphobes who'd misgender you regardless of if your pronouns were highly visible or not).

i did find them a little hard to find on araa's profile at first, but even with my characters where i have the pronouns clearly displayed, tagged, and used throughout the whole bio, people will inevitably chose pronouns from their judgement of the character's appearance... just like in real life, what fun (sarcasm LOL). it's really on other people to read the profile, which they SHOULD be doing if theyre playing games that involve character info :-(

Not gonna lie I don't answer profiles I have trouble reading because well... I like to read the profiles before responding in a game but ...

if the profile gives me a headache I will not read it. I suggest moving the info box up or making it stand out and easier to read since it took me a while to even find it, let alone where their pronouns were listed.

and PLEASE delete the lorem ipsum, if you aren't using it you can just replace it all with [wip] or something, please.

it may have something to do with the code layout, though you'll never be able to fix people who do it bc they don't read profiles. here's an example of my codes, where the character name, pronouns, and species is clearly listed at the top for anyone to see ! while this won't guarantee your character's not getting misgendered, it's the easiest way to prevent it on your side of the screen
