Any other SCP fans?

Posted 3 years, 3 months ago (Edited 3 years, 3 months ago) by HistoryAddict

I'm just curious to see if anyone else on here has heard of SCP, read about them or used to be big fans but slowly left, anything related is fine!

If you know about them i just have a few questions but this is also a discussion thread! so you don't have to do the questions i made, feel free to ask your own and talk amongst yourselves!

Rules:
Make sure to censor out sensitive topics like so if you have any to mention
Don't berate someone because of one that they mention, everyone is entitled to their own opinion
Do not use slurs in your writing
try to keep it as pg-13 as you can

Questions:
1. what were your first thoughts on them? (if you could remember)
2. Do/did you have a favorite?
3.Is there one that you just cant stand (as in design, story, or just anything about it)
4. Which one interests you the most?

my responses to the questions here v
1. at first i actually found it to be pretty cool, i've always been a fan of the horror genre so things out of the normal were super cool to me
2. i know its a popular one but i have to go with 999, I would like to get my depression cured thank you
3. As much as i find it super interesting i'd go with 4975, i don't know what it is but just the way it can turn its head to make those sounds just disturbs me to an uncanny valley.
4. As i said, 4975 interests me but i cant stand it, but otherwise i'd have to go with 914 and 294

I've dabbled a bit in the fandom, and technically have some of my own that I've used in a campaign once.

1. I definitely thought the concept was neat, especially with some of the well-known SCPs.

2. I have a couple of favorites. 049, but that's only because I'm a sucker for plague doctors. 001 "When Day Breaks" was a great one too, partially because of the concept and partially because of how well the story was written. 2521 because of the uniqueness of how it's presented as an image, an SCP who cannot be spoken about or written about.

3. It's not that I can't stand it, but there's definitely some "why tho" when it comes to 2721.

4. I'm definitely pretty interested in the stuff relating to the Church of the Broken God and the Sarkics. The relationship between those two, their gods, and the opposition yet harmony between their purposes...that's good stuff right there.

YES!!! My bby Edith used to actually be an SCP OC, until I figured out a story for her and everything. Now she's just... non-fandom.

1. I actually got into SCP after watching Markiplier's playthrough of the MLP mod. After that, I was into it for awhile. I thought it was really epic, as I absolutely used to be obsessed with horror genres!

2. SCP 049. Give me any plague doctor -or anything that looks like one- and I'll start simping. Used to literally be so fricking obsessed... But now, I just really love his overall vibe. I also really love SCP 096 and recently introduced my brother to the game through him. I also relate to him..  a lot lmao.

3. SCP 035. The fandom ruined it for me tbh. I also don't really care for characters who are just a mask.

4. Honestly.. SCP 049. I really love medieval themed characters, plus the way his body works (the robes and mask being weirdly connected to his.. skin? flesh???). I guess it's just his overall "aesthetic" that makes him interesting to me. Not to mention the voice. It's soothing, but once you hear it, you know you're done for.

Neoeryn better hope he doesn't think you got the pestilence-

I also have an oc who i only recently started touching on thats technicallt still part of the fandom, just, kinda detached, in their own little au, hes so dumb his stupidity might as well be its own anomaly

Victorck

HistoryAddict

ASDSMLFNFN if I had any pestilence it would be "being a dummy" and literally touching his face

I like feeling the textures of things for some reason.. like I can't go in a store without touching all the rugs and soft pillows and everyone's stopped taking me places because of it

HistoryAddict

Neoeryn WHY IS THAT SOMETHING MY OC WOULD DO HKDSLHJFK

1. what were your first thoughts on them? (if you could remember)

I honestlyyy.. didn't really care much for them? I wasn't that interested in them at all, I thought 049 had a cool design but I took a while to actually get into it.

2. Do/did you have a favorite?

049, 682, 096 (he reminds me of the rake kinda), and finally 087 because I love strange environments. I also like quite a few others but I'm bad at remembering the numbers. (I also think scps 131-A and 131-B are adorable in a weird way and just great)

3.Is there one that you just cant stand (as in design, story, or just anything about it)

Idrk, not any that comes to mind IMMEDIATELY. I don't rly like 173 tho ig.

4. Which one interests you the most?

possibly 087,,, I love never-ending stuff tbh.

TunaPetunia

im kinda off and on about it.. it depends. Anyways my favorite is scp-529. :) she can have a little cheese..

VanillaMouse i totally agree on that chunk of the fandom being aha- questionable- and thats really cool to hear!

swirltraveler

VanillaMouse That game sounds like a blast! I actually had an SCP world in the Interstitial system to visit and it worked out pretty well, but I've always pondered about a campaign centered around SCP.

Speaking of, here's some of my notes from that campaign, since my players already visited that world. Some of these are original, others are canonical characters or fan characters shoved into the setting. The numbers I had to make up and pray, so if they're similar to canon SCPs, there's a reason why.

SCP-5285: The Stitchwraith | Euclid | From "Into the Pit"
This anomaly is known to have the form of the Fredbear's Family Diner animatronic "Spring Bonnie", with alterations. Instead of the green eyes of the original model, it instead has blue eyes that glow.
SCP-5285 does not speak. It will attempt to instead act like a parent to those it encounters, although we suspect that it is trying to return to the ball pit where we found it (hereafter known as SCP-5285-A).

SCP-5582: Audrey III | Euclid | Based on Little Shop of Horrors.
A plant-woman whose appearance shifts to match the closest production of "Little Shop of Horrors" to her location. If there are none, she will shift into a "default" form appearing to be a young Ellen Greene.

SCP-5144: Nobody's Prize | Safe | Original, based on the remark "I'm nobody's prize" from Aladdin's Jasmine.
SCP-5144 is a golden collar that is attached to an immortal young princess known as Salma. The collar cannot be brought off of her neck unless she sincerely loves a man; however, Salma is a lesbian. It's theorized that Salma will age rapidly and die if the collar is removed.
The collar also has properties to attract men to her; straight or bi men will have to roll Push Through Stress in order to ignore the efforts of the collar, and will be immune to its effects until six months have passed without another encounter.

SCP-5254: Beneath the Masks | Original; I guess you could compare these two to the magical girls from LobotomyCorp? Namely the Queen of Hatred.
-1 The King of Sunlight
-2 The Queen of Moonlight
Radiant magical girls who hide Eldritch forms, the latter of which appears only in pitch darkness. Containment procedures require lights to be on during moonless nights to prevent this.

SCP-5234: The Self-Help Tome | Original
A large book reading “How to _______”; if a person writes a topic, the book will become a guide on that subject. Subjects cannot put down the book until reaching the end, and will often become hostile when asked or forced to do so. Basic needs become abandoned, and subjects will not even sleep until they are finished. Subjects are advised to be extremely specific when using the book outside of experimentation.

SCP-5480: The Rope of Life | Original; yeah, I'm not sure how I came up with this one.
A book that, when opened, extends a rope upwards, then makes two portals (one in the ceiling, and one in the book). After a few minutes, the rope will begin to “rise” endlessly, with cups tied to it. The cups have juice inside of them, which have been tested to contain nothing out of the ordinary; subjects commented that the juice tastes “good”, “sweet”, and “fresh”. Emptying a cup and placing a fruit in it will cause the juices brought up to become the flavor of the fruit placed inside within ten minutes.
Trying to peer into the portal in the book shows an endless void where the rope is extending from. Peering into the portal in the ceiling shows a giant human-like face staring down, even as the rope continues climbing up seemingly endlessly. Subjects who sighted the face will become extremely distraught, and will only calm down when several cups of juice from this SCP are given, despite confirmation that the juice’s properties have not changed or deviated from normal juice.

SCP-5547: Runnin' and Gunnin' | As it says: Inspired by Cuphead
A cheap plastic game system containing the game “Deadly Adventures”, which appears to be a run-and-gun boss rush adventure in the vein of “Cuphead”. When this system is picked up and played, it begins to warp its surroundings into levels from the game; in a small containment room, this will cause overlapping of “assets” until either the player is killed by suffocation, killed by crushing, or completes the game before the “assets” fill the room.
Doors being opened will instead cause these “assets” to leak out into other rooms. These “assets” can be cleaned up with a broom, and feel like plastic.

SCP-5685: A Drawn Divine | ...it's a BATIM OC of mine because haha it'd be funny.
It's literally just Soul. Ironically from Blight's universe and stolen away to the SCP world. Soul's not having a good day.

There were also a couple I was planning to do for a proper SCP campaign, but that's mostly a couple of my existing OCs and some canon characters.

Victorck

Reviving this thread because yes

Found_Footage

1. Pretty cool, to be honest! I've always had a love for monsters and bizarre things, though my first experience with the overall universe were with  SCP:Containmend Breach

2. Some I particulary like are SCP-049, SCP-682, SCP-1471-A, SCP-002, SCP-939, SCP-3199

3 None that I can think of

4. SCP-002, how specifically does it work with the whole thing of turning any living human that enters it into a article of furniture?

i really like the concept of scp so much!! it's so hecking amazing!!

1 what were your first thoughts on them? (if you could remember)

i remember i was afraid of the scp and thought it was like more scarier than creepypasta, so i avoided at all costs because i was afraid it was gonna be worse... like friends would talk about it, my boyfriend would talk about it, and i didn't seem to be too comfortable by the topic of it because i didn't know what was up.. though them talking about scp opened my eyes because that was when i began to become intrigued by it.. especially scp-1471.. that's the VERY first scp that i loved SO MUCH

2  Do/did you have a favorite?

yes, i have several favorites!! though, nobody would top up to scp-1471 because HOLY HECK I LOVE SCP-1471 SO DAMN MUCH. THEY'RE ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCP'S E V E R . HNNNGGG ANYTHING THAT'S WOLF + SKULL RELATED IS SO COOL, AND THE CONCEPT OF THEM AND EVERYTHING IS JUST [chef's kiss] though as i mentioned earlier, i do have several more favorites!! this includes:

scp-2952; scp-999; scp-2295; scp-173 (HE'S JUST A PEANUT STATUE MAN AND I LOVE HIM); scp-049;

3 Is there one that you just cant stand (as in design, story, or just anything about it)

some of the fandom i just- i just can't man- the fact that people SEXUALIZE SCP-1471 IS JUST HNGNNGNEJKWALGENWAKFLMEAWNFEMKLAW

4  Which one interests you the most?

scp-3008 definitely!! same with scp-2952 and scp-001!!

HistoryAddict

i've seen a few EAS scenarios of scp-001 and IT'S SO COOLLLLL HOLY CRAPPPPPP and that's what intrigued me about scp-001.. like all the prompts and scenarios that people would make out of it and it's just [chef's kiss]
