Why do you use Toyhouse?

(OOC CRACK: Somone yell at me to not be typing in Size 9 but I HAVE APPEARED)

So this question randomly popped into my brain...Hey, why do you use Toyhouse? Despite all the drama, errors, the fact that it is still in invite code testing for years, etc, why do you use Toyhouse? I want to know! You can give me specific reasons, or a broad opinion! Let's share why we use Toyhouse and come together as a community on a mere character sharing / storage site!

For me, I came to Toyhouse because...Ill admit, all my friends were using it and I just wanted to join in! For a while I never realized the Forums and community existed, I just wanted to share my OCS and store their art but...Ever since I came into the community, I have been welcomed (and hated *wheezes in all the blocks I see*) , but I still exist here because, despite the bad, there are many goods! I love the fact that you can code on TH with custom-made codes by kind coders here, and that's very epic!

Anyways, enough of me...Share your story now!

Ah yes before we start, basic forum rules apply! Just in summary: Don't be an ass.

But share your story, maybe interact with others, I might join in, who knows! ;D

Nifffi I am sorry for pinging but- But please explain on what you mean by that??? :"D

I joined because I wanted more Dreamies and at the time u-w was abandoning FA, but I stay because it's the only place I don't feel bad for uploading/storing all the awful OC doodles I do (~half of which stays behind private characters so I don't even have to be a bother to anyone (☞゚ヮ゚)☞) since I'm mostly uncomfortable sharing my personal stuff on socmed. I feel like everywhere else I need to keep everything "professional" because of commission reasons, but it's nice to have a second place where all my OC art is stored and organized. My folders take forever to load up on my harddrive, so I just default to TH wheneve I need to grab a reference for an OC. TH is also unfortunately the only place where I've written down even a fraction of my "headcanons" for my OCs, rippp I should back all that up too.

before toyhouse all of my stuff was on charahub. i joined toyhouse like four years ago because some of my friends were joining as well.

the only reason i'm still on here is because this is the best oc storage website by far. i suppose i COULD keep everyone on google docs and my personal discord server like i already do but toyhouse feels better and easier to me. i LOVE the html customization, and i also like character tabs and a lot of the other storage functions of toyhouse. if it werent for all of that i would most likely be using a different oc storage site... but ive tried all the other well-known/major ones and theyre either pretty bad or not to my tastes u__u

Sadismancer

I love OCs and everything about them and have been creating such since 2001.
So this is the perfect place to be!

i literally got a code bc my sister got me one from a user on dA and i just used it just to have one since invites were hard to come by back then lmao i barely had any ocs since i used to be more into fandom stuff too

then i got more active in the forums like doing art games/ freebies, wanted to show off whatever dumb oc idea and art i made for them, found out how adopts work and got a few, then eventually i fell deeper into oc making :'D

nowadays though i'm more of a casual lurker (chiming in general board when i want to say something, using "show me threads" to post and run, looking at popular page to fave ocs and get inspirations/ ideas, but these are things i do every once in a while) and just kind of use this site mostly just to post art i make of my ocs lol

grimberriz

I actually don't know. It never really occur to me, I guess I like showing off my ocs? Toyhouse is literally a bad addiction to me, F.

I forgot how I first found out about it, but I kinda just use it to store my characters and art. The forums are also sometimes fun to check around as well sometimes, there’s always neat conversations happening. Anyway I don’t think it needs to be said that Toyhouse is definitely AMAZING for storing characters. It has galleries and HTML bios and everything...

I think my only problem though is that I sometimes worry what people think when they see my characters. Like one day someone will be so offended by my characters (for... whatever reason?) and just attack the hell out of me. Perhaps it’s just paranoia, but idk, people have seemed to have already blocked me for a reason. At the same time though I do have some fun in showing off certain characters. It’s weird, haha- A lot of artists use Toyhouse though, so it’s easy to just post a character’s link, pretty much a page with everything about them and all their art, whenever you want to refer to them. I mean, if you want to read more about someone’s character, what’s easier? Docs or Toyhouse?

blorbos

i got it because a friend had it, and i kept it because its a great place to publicly post about my ocs. and i have adhd, so my brain has this incredible wombo combo technique of hyperfixating on an oc and creating an entire novel about them... and then totally forgetting it the very next day. this website helps a LOT, id probably forget half these characters existed if i didnt have this

Nord

I started using it years ago (oml I just realised that I've been here since 2015, ahaha)
And tbh? I really only use it to store my characters and have a place where I have the info all in...well, one place. I am only sometimes in the art games forum, when I feel like drawing something for somebody. I had a look at the other forums but usually the topics just don't spark all that much interest in me, or the threads that do die.
And I am practically nowhere else on this site, which is why I never even see any of the drama people talk so often about.
And honestly? That is pretty chill :'D

Mostly as character storage but I also use the world functions to rp and do my worldbuilding! And occasionally poke the forums when I'm bored.

atempause

Mostly just cause it's the best character storage site out there tbh. After I left dA it's also the only place where I can see my friends art cause I'm not on Twitter and they're not on Tumblr lmfao
