Not really a case of blocking nor is it on this site, but its kinda hilarious, but also really mean (I mean, I was the punching bag of the site, but c'mon.). It was on a Polandball amino (horrible idea, really), and my Ex had just left me for someone else. I didn't feel too good mentally, and I wished in one chat that lightning would strike me. One of the leaders then renamed themselves to lightning, and then gave me a strike, which hid my profile, and prevented me from talking. It was kinda funny, but honestly it was just mean.
I was browsing through the forum games and saw my first "this user has blocked you."
I thought "Huh? Weird I wonder who this is and why they blocked me?"
No skin off my nose but oh the curiosity, maybe I beat them in auction? Said something? Maybe they got mad that I rejected an art trade or rejected their offer on character or something?
Then I just walked down memory lane, remembering over the years, about who blocked me on things and why. Too numerous to count, mostly over petty things years ago, maybe some are legitimate? Idk. Have you ever gotten blocked by someone for a stupid or funny reason? Does it have a good story? I'd love to hear them if your comfortable sharing :)
I got blocked because I forgot to add a trigger warning ONCE. I forgot it, they were super aggressive and told me to delete my post and called it sh!t. Because I forgot to add a TW. Then I did add a TW and apologized thinking it would be fine and then they just blocked me like dude-
I don't know the reasons why people block me, so idk what the weirdest reason would be. I don't think it is "weird" to block people though. I've blocked people for incredibly miniscule things, even if they just give me an off vibe and I don't have anything to prove they did anything wrong, I just find it better to be safe than sorry. (it does kind of make me feel glad when later on that person actually does turn out to be bad, and my random suspicion turned out to be correct though, lol)
I have a few stories:
- I forgot to respond back to their offer for a month and block me right away. Didn't even let me know or give a heads up that I forgot to respond back to their offer. It was a long time ago and since improved so I thank them still for improving myself after I got blocked :)
- I use to create offbrands of a certain CS and someone blocked me bc of that. Even though I've stopped, I'm still blocked by them (they stated that they'll unblock those ppl who stopped making OBs but maybe it's just a blurry memory).
