ive been vagueposted + subsequently blocked on twit for luneposting because it broke the person's headcanon that n was gay. it's the only time i've been blocked for it as far as i know because im not nosy but lune's gotten me a lot of vagueposts (and even direct salt once) lol
I was browsing through the forum games and saw my first "this user has blocked you."
I thought "Huh? Weird I wonder who this is and why they blocked me?"
No skin off my nose but oh the curiosity, maybe I beat them in auction? Said something? Maybe they got mad that I rejected an art trade or rejected their offer on character or something?
Then I just walked down memory lane, remembering over the years, about who blocked me on things and why. Too numerous to count, mostly over petty things years ago, maybe some are legitimate? Idk. Have you ever gotten blocked by someone for a stupid or funny reason? Does it have a good story? I'd love to hear them if your comfortable sharing :)
I got blocked in mid-transaction with selling a character to them. I was responding them with where to send the money to, and immediately got a you’ve-been-blocked notification. I later found out that they were a scammer but I was really confused about it.
OH yeah, this was a long time ago offline, but I was like 12, saw a piece of art that was obviously traced but I didn’t know any better, and I complimented on it because I thought they were a good artist. They told me I “didn’t have the luxury to give them praise” and then blocked me before I could respond with my genuine confusion. I guess they thought I was being sarcastic, but no?? I was just a stupid kid that fell for your tracing and thought you were an amazing artist??
knowing how some people on TH are, participating on this very thread might get you blocked (a while ago there were a numbers of thread made by people complaining about getting blocked and in a different thread people were talking about blocking people making those threads XD)
to follow the 'thread rules'. I was blocked multiple time for telling people they were breaking the rules of the site :P
I replied to someone's "Show me your such-and-such characters" thread. That was it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Upon a bit of further investigation I think maybe the character I shared, or my characters in general, had some characteristics this user was biased against, which is fine. I'm just annoyed to waste time replying to a thread when the OP doesn't want to see characters like mine and my characters might even offend them. I don't want to unintentionally offend. I mean...maybe clarify such things, what you don't want to see, in your post? Would be thoughtful.
I only even realized I'd been blocked when I replied to a duplicate thread another user had started, got confused thinking, "Didn't I reply to something like this not long ago...?" then looked around a bit and discovered that this second user was duplicating the threads created by the first user, just without all the "rules" attached. (Neat idea, BTW.) The silly thing is I had actually abided by the original thread rules, yet apparently there were a lot of unstated ones I had no way to be aware of. So...blocked. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And if anyone is motivated enough to block me over this post (which I doubt), that's probably for the best, like I said, I don't want to interact with someone if I've already unintentionally offended them without knowing why. Too much stress.
i found someone on here thru one of the chat threads to play a video game with and soon after we first played a game together they got a psa or whatever on em for tracing i think? i didnt say or do a single thing about it but when i checked their profile it said they had blocked me?? bizarre lol
Offsite, I got blocked when I was 16-17 on DA because I:
- Wouldn't draw NSFW art
- ... of a 16-year-old game character
- ... for free (for the client's mental health, of course)
It's one of my very few difficult clients, but I'm kinda glad they blocked me instead of trying to hound me into doing it :>
nagito komaeda pfp person blocked me because i was spamming nsfw copypastas to a comment raffle, then got angry at my friend for giving info to them about how there was no rule that nsfw couldn't be posted.
I don't think I have been blocked on ToyHouse (or at least I haven't found yet), but it did happen offsite.
On Flight Rising, a pet dragon browser game, several people I have never interacted with have me blocked. Why? I have no idea.
I must admit I made an extremely hilarious fandragon out of pure hatred and meme and this might have been the cause, but who knows?
