Ugghhhhh I’m so unmotivated to draw and Im super bored it’s killing me. Soooo like, other than drawing, what do y’all do when y’all are bored?
Oh man, a lot of things. I either go on here or maybe read. Perhaps I'll also play video game such as Spore or Pokemon, watch paleontology videos, or join in on some interesting conversations on Discord. I can also just take the genocide route and scroll Reddit aimlessly too, though, lol.
Anyway I always say I'm almost never bored cause I have so many fun things to do but then those things end up distracting me for too long and I get hardly any work done :,) Oh, technology...
Look at my old sketchbooks and laugh/cringe
Think of new stories / expand on existing stories
Try mucking around with the random traditional art supplies I have in the house
Plot a novel in two hours only, leave it to stew, come back to it the next time I'm bored/a month (whichever is longest), and laugh
Draw my first OCs / redesign them. They're kind of a comfort thing + I want to reclaim them since they were made in a shitty time and have bad emotional attachments... I think they're more or less positive now ^^ progress!!
Try to learn how to do random things (learn how to do a handstand, backflip etc. Maybe even try to make a random recipe you've never heard of from a completely different culture and see if you like it or not.)
Play games like Gartic Phone with only mouse/touchpad with your friends, cry laugh in discord calls
Stream horror games with friends in a discord stream and screech together
Get that strange food item sitting in the back of your fridge/cupboard that you don't know what to do with and try to make up a recipe for it. Make it using that recipe and eat it.
any time you're bored its a time that can be spent doing something productive... unless the executive dysfunction hits Bad
Besides drawing I try to write some more in my drafts, bake something, work on OC profiles and pages, or even progress in a game... anything that isn't just sitting around watching youtube. but then again i'm one of those people who feels guilty when i'm not working in some format
i honestly just go to sleep. i'm the nap king, sometimes i'll snooze multiple times in one day bc i'm bored or i want time to pass faster 🤷♂️
Audiobooks, talking to friends, going on runs, if it’s nice out, playing online games in a voice call with friends like gartic phone or skribble, asking a friend if they’d like to go on a walk, planning outfits, doing push ups, organizing and tidying up, rearranging stuff, writing cheesy little notes app poems, looking up and reading about some random topic that catches my interest, sewing, yoga and stretching, collecting recipes, spending some time just thinking, and making or listening to music and asking friends for recommendations! Also try combinations of these things or making them into challenges or games to stay motivated!
i mostly just watch videos, play games or go into social platforms (like VRchat) and hope to get thrown into a wormhole. if none works just putting on music and falling into the inevitable "if only i could animate this" world as i think up animatics to go with the song
BoredButton........ you're welcome lol. found a bunch of random little niche sites through it. any of those websites that takes you to a random site are good time wasters.
used to go on askreddit too but that place is just as boring as doing nothing anymore, so here is a thread of a bunch of useful sites that i like to browse and save stuff from and then never use, if that's your thing too.
also 2048. but it gets boring after you beat it (yes..... i had that much time last week :>)
orrrrrr you could be a good samaritan lol. Zooniverse has a ton of volunteer projects to do, i usually throw on some music and transcribe stuff to waste time. sometimes you learn a cool thing or two. i mostly found it bc i wanted to build up my resume and then had school requirements (which btw if you're working age: good way to slap some volunteer work on your resume without too much pain).
