There will be an event for anime of the year every year! The most recommended animes in the board will be listed here! To recommend an anime, simply type in: "(anime) for AOTY" somewhere in your message so it's easier to find. A manga version of this event will be added if this one goes well.

fettuwuccine finished it as well. (dungeon meshi ending + character spoilers) I loved mithrun so much man.. and his fight with the demon and his over all personality. he's quite relatable. I also enjoyed the ending very much and I hope there's a second part to it, but if ryoko doesn't wanna continue it to pursue other things, I'm fine with that!

People saying slice-of-life is boring. I disagree. They're the most underrated genre ever. Heck, I even made a slice of life story and most people enjoy it.
ScarletBloodmoon if it makes you feel any better, KLK is very highly regarded, actually! A lot of people even know her from the one YouTube video of the little pogchamp meme. (will link if I ever find it) I guess the discussion died down cause it's been a while, but many people like it!
I've actually been meaning to watch it, as it's one of trigger's more well known animes. I also love the design of the MC, she looks amazing and I love her hair, it inspired one of the designs for my persona.
As for Dragon Ball, I also see it around alot especially as discord profile pics, but it's only really my boyfriend who discusses it with me since I haven't seen the fandom yet. I see many memes about the anime though featuring the characters.
Very basic but obsessed with Mashle rn, dumb but mega OP characters for the win. 👊✨️ My sense of humor is broken also as well so I find it fun.
Also in a HXH phase again, watching the 99 version right now because I can. By far my favorite Anime (also I consider the 2011 Ver. my first cause it's the one that got me really interested in anime as a whole). Bro has deeper lore for side characters than I do for some of my mains and over all I'm just obsessed with the whole thing.
I guess my technical first 'anime' was stuff like Pokémon, Tenkai Knights (obscure af), and Beyblade (my wholeass childhood). But I was never super invested, ya know? It was just stuff I'd watch because it was there. I only really got into anime about 3 years ago. (The pandemic set me up for this nonsense.)
with Kaiju no. 8 first episode debut, im so excited to see certain scenes in the manga play out based on what's already provided in only one episode AHHH; im just hoping it doesn't get rushed
also been watching Yu Yu Hakusho lately, I miss watching this thing, the English dub is absolutely amazing
^ Yu Yu Hakusho mention!!! Love that anime, I should rewatch it too. Plus, the op song Smile Bomb is such a banger. So many fond memories of that show.

Thinking about rewatching Tiger & Bunny again, but my list of “must watch” shows has been piling up and I also really wanted to get into Dungeon Meshi and Mashle. But also. I love my sponsored superhero agenda 😭
