I could've sworn that Arena Assault didn't used to give you any experience or SP, but I only now just noticed that it does and am now second-guessing myself on whether or not it always did or if it was a recent change. XD Ah well, I guess that's one way to get some points without spending any energy.

Wtf did the loser win 3/4 voting gauntlets? Soren was losing 90% of the time but won anyway, and I'm p sure Katarina & Hinoka are more popular than Amelia & Shanna.......
tbh I have not been fighting at all for Takumi bc I don't care which of the 2 wins (I'll support Takumi or Soren) lol, except occasionally to get the flags for "use a red ally" etc...
By the by, does anyone know how one stays at Tier 20? I know it's the top arena tier (I think?) so it should be hard but like... I have a deathless streak and 6 defenses and still going down to Tier 19... woe is me. :')
I guess you would have to have a flawless deathless streak with like the highest possible score for each battle?
I just got my second Henry, and I just can't get my hands on a Nowi ;_; I was hoping for Soren to win over Takumi, but guess those multipliers at last hour always win :'D
Also I'm like- really surprised Shanna won the girls side on the Gauntlet. Weren't Hinoka and Amelia favorites?
With respect to the Voting Gauntlets, for the previous one the mechanics were changed so that now a "losing" condition is triggered by a 1% difference in points. As you may notice, that's a super small margin! Before I think it used to be 10%?? Not sure, the wiki doesn't say anything about it.
For better or worse, this has made it much easier for unpopular characters to stay competitive, last-minute upsets to become common, and more even matches to be a constant seesaw of losing streaks. For example, Amelia had wayyyy more supporters than Shanna did, but Shanna hit a losing streak right toward the end and the bonus points from that let her just barely win out over Amelia.
I don't mind it too much, since before picking a popular character meant you were doomed to a low overall score and a lot of winners were foregone conclusions. When bonus rounds get triggered so often, though, it's a lot more exciting and your use of flags has to be more strategic! On the other hand, Voting Gauntlets are technically supposed to be popularity contests, so people can end up feeling cheated when their team was huge but they got screwed over by the other team getting a bonus round at the last second.
I'm on Team Shanna since I use Voting Gauntlets as an excuse to promote an ideal-IV'd unit to 5*, and she's done pretty well for me! Both in that I haven't been dying very often (Killer Lance + Moonblow + Quickened Pulse does good work) and that being on her team has let me get up to the 2,000s in total rank so far. I just use 5-10 flags per bonus round (depending on how many she's scheduled to get) and then start dumping 200s at the very end.
For the record, there's a spreadsheet that shows who's expected to get bonuses when and win in the end! Don't take too much stock in the projected winners, though, since the final results switch around a lot. It's mostly just useful for telling if your chosen hero is expected to get a lot of bonuses and therefore if you should hoard your flags or spread them around evenly. It's also good for showing rough estimates of when bonuses are, so if you know you'll be at work or in class during a string of bonus rounds that you should spend your flags earlier.
ALSO one more thing; if you're like me and have over 100 dueling crests piled up, I've figured out a good use for them! If you have any bonus units who need some SP, bringing them into arena during the weekend gets them 12 SP per kill. Bring two dancers (preferably of a different color than the unit you're grinding in case you get walled by weapon triangle disadvantage) and a healer, then just keep picking Beginner and you should hit matches that are pretty manageable but have units with high enough levels to earn you SP.
I got both Merric over 600 SP and Anna over... a lot of SP (though I leveled her through 5* so she got SP from that too) using this method in a pretty short period of time and i still have, like, 140 dueling crests left SO definitely worth checking out if you're drowning in swords and have any bonus units you'd like to work on!

Isoprene Shanna is an extremely underrated unit, often overlooked because Cordelia exists (who frankly, I find extremely overrated and not that good). I'm hoping to get a better IV for her so I can merge the 5* Shanna I summoned from the banner onto her. I'm thinking I'll build her with Firesweep and Fury. Should be fun. :3 (and yes, I am team Shannananana.)

HeroofEnelios Yeah, it's funny how underrated a lot of units are! One thing I really like about FEH is that literally any unit can be good; you might have to replace all of their basic skills, but even the lowliest vendor trash units can function just as well as sought-after units if you give them a chance! I've made it a personal mission to have a 5* of every unit who has an ideal IV so every time i hit 60kish feathers or so I promote someone and deck them out, usually someone who's in the next Voting Gauntlet, Tempest, or who's an arena bonus unit.
My Shanna (+Spd -Res) has Killer Lance+/Reposition/Moonbow/Darting Blow 3/Desperation 3/Threaten Spd 3/Quickened Pulse and she's served me really well. Thanks to Darting Blow and the general lack of hones in the Voting Gauntlet she doubles just about everyone, the KL/QP/Moonbow combo lets her get a special off in every round of combat, and one counter leaves her in Desperation range to handle everyone else.
Like, yeah, I'm not gonna use her over Hinoka (who's mostly around for Hone Fliers) or S!Corrin on my Flier Emblem team, but I imagine she'll come in handy for Arena Assault and any arena seasons where she's a bonus unit! I think I have enough fliers geared up to make a backup Flier Emblem team too...
double post but I CAN'T BELIEVE SHANNA WON... WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MULTIPLIERS FOR THOSE LAST SEVERAL HOURS... which really is exactly why Shanna won, since yesterday it was predicted she'd have plenty of bonuses today but today during one of her bonus hours she didn't get enough flags spent on her and wound up too even with Takumi for either to get a bonus afterward. This led to everyone hoarding their feathers waiting for another bonus round and then dumping them all in a panic during the last hour or two when they realized no more bonuses were coming, and it just turns out Shanna's team had hoarded more flags than Takumi's.
I think this is the first Voting Gauntlet in a long time where the winner wasn't determined by a bonus right toward the end, which is pretty neat! Doubly impressive because Shanna isn't a very popular character, but everything turned out juuuust right to let her just barely snag the win.
...i had to spend 1,300 flags on non-bonus rounds though so my total rank slipped from ~2500 all the way down to ~17000 though ;___;
What a way to wrap up what was, in my opinion, one of the most interesting gauntlets to date. The underdog takes the victory! As a Team Shanna member, it was incredibly exciting to see those 500 victory feathers when I checked the results. Wow.
Best part is, most people (from both teams) are being extremely civil. It's just nice and pleasant~
