THIRD PERSON POV
SETTING
they are sitting next to each other on a stone bench in a zen garden close to UA, and it’s spring so Sakura petals are floating everywhere. This is the instance where Jiro’s mom has passed away because story reasons.
Jiro glances over at denki, watching as the light from the dimming sun refracts off his honey gold locks. He shifts nervously in his seat, turning over to look at Jiro as she quickly pulls her gaze away. Denki blushes profusely, glances down at his shirt. “So...what’s your family like?” He questions.
“It’s just me and my dad now....my mom passed away from leukemia when I was 13.” She mumbles, looking away as her eyes become moist.
“Oh...uh...I’m so sorry...” Denki stutters, sweat beads dripping down his neck. “What was she like?”
Jiro turns back, wiping her eyes with her right hand. “It’s fine. She was...like me. Had the best laugh.. looked like me too.” Her voice trembles a bit, almost cracking. A single Sakura petal lands on Jiro’s shoulder, and Denki raises his hand and gently brushes it off, smiling.
“She must’ve been really pretty then.” He says, eyes locking with Jiro’s as a light pink blush fills her face.
