Co-Owning characters?

I have a few characters that I co-own with other users on the site, and we both upload art and info induvisually. The thing is, I have more art on the character, and just in general it's a bit difficult. The whole no co owning function has made me less likely to upload certain characters.

Example: http://toyhou.se/192866.jack- & http://toyhou.se/192869.jack

It'd be cool if there was something under "Ownership" That was a "Co ownership box," And you could mark if you equally owned the character or if there was a main owner, & other notes.

Hopefully i'm not bringing up a duplicate topic ^^; Just an idea i've had for ages that I wish the site had ;v;

That sounds like a great idea.

That would be really useful!

I hope this becomes a thing. I share a sona with my girlfriend and some of my OC's have kids with friends OC's so co-ownership would be useful if we were to upload art of the kids.

I need this to happen.  Two of my best characters are co-owned and It would be muccchhhhh easier if we could just have the character equally on both accounts and see all the art that each other posts ;;

I really hope they do this, I co own a couple of characters

+1!

My wife and I have a story we’re writing together, and it would be great for both of us to be able to edit/upload to the characters and have them marked as being owned by the both of us!

Plus I have other friends who’ve contributed characters to stories I’m writing, and I’d LOVE to be able to mark them as co-owners.

For what Zehith said, i think what would happen is the character could get 'frozen' until the two co-owners could come into an agreement, and other than that you can't upload art, remove art, edit the character, ECT until said oc is un-frozen, meaning before anything else could happen the two owners have to come to an agreement before said oc could ever be used again (Tedius? yes, but thats the only idea i can come up with)

also, just for other things- If the co-owner option is clicked on, maybe the character can't be transferred? like the 'ownership transfer' option doesn't appear, OR, if it does- both owners have to click 'agree' to transfer, maybe a pop up appears like

Character transfer waiting to be sent: (1/2) co-owners approve of this owner transfer

Basically what would happen is before you even recive the pop up that says '__ wants to transfer the oc', both owners would have to click 'accept transferal of ownership' if that makes sense?? to re-sum it up- A stars the transfer, B(whos the co-owner) gets a pop up saying something like "A wishes to give ownership over to C, do you accept this?" and B will have to click accept before the oc transfer notice appears to c!

i would support this, but the issues with potential falling out remains. it could get very messy very quickly if there was an argument and both wanted the character...

there is the ability to upload an image and add your friend's version of the character to the image as well.

personally though i don't support co-owns ever, because it always ends in a ton of drama and even scams and heartbreak. I'd say just have the main owner hold the character, and mention that the other user uses them too.
