[FIXED] ❗: Don't let ppl delete other ppls images!

Hi!  I'm a big fan of the tagging system on toyhouse- I think it's really fun to go through and tag your friends' characters in pictures they're in!  But there's a pretty serious loophole...

If I tag someone's OC in a picture, they are then given editing rights to the image, where they can add their own description, set their own crop, etc...  But they are also allowed to delete the image from my gallery.
All they have to do is go to where the tags are, and delete my OC from the tags, and the image is completely wiped from that OC's gallery..!!

In this picture here, I have tagged a friend's OC, Haruka, and I have the ability to delete Haruka's tag from the image.  Which is innocuous enough, but if I delete the tag, it removes the entire image from her gallery.  And because their OC is tagged here, they have access to this on their side as well, so they are able to delete my OC Haruhi's tag as well, and completely remove the image from her gallery.

This can pave the way for a lot of people to spitefully delete images from someone's gallery without permission should their OC be tagged, or even for someone to mistakenly delete images from their gallery because they don't know that removing the tag removes the image...

If an OC has like 10 images, it should be easy enough to find out which one got deleted and replace it....  But if an OC has a lot of art, it can be a big hassle trying to track down which image was deleted so you can reupload it.

I definitely think that people should be able to delete tags if they aren't involved with the people they're tagging anymore, but they shouldn't be able to delete what's in someone else's gallery when they do so..!

This has happened to me. Someone did a page of gift art for multiple different users, and I was happy to get gift art from a total stranger... But someone who got art on that page must have deleted my character from the tag bit because it's no longer in said character's gallery, and I didn't do anything to it myself ;n;

+1 please! I had an ex friend delete my character out of a lot of art that I PAID for of both of our beans and they continued to try to do it when I had fixed the problem. It's really heartbreaking that happened and honestly a fix for it would be great. T.T I have had gift art deleted from my characters when I never deleted anything because the artist was allowed to do that....

+1, and hangon, maybe there could be a confirmation system for this like there is for adding images in the first place? Like- person A can delete it from their own gallery, but person A tries to delete it from another character’s gallery (person B), it sends a message basically accepting/denying the deletion. It’d still allow for the correcting of mistakes if the wrong characters are tagged, but avoid person A deleting person B’s character from the image without permission.

This has been suggested a few times! The only issue I would have with it personally is like... Say a pair of people have a really bad breakup or something, and person A just wants nothing to do with person B's characters anymore. If they want to delete the image from their gallery, or simply remove any links to person B's characters, they should be able to do that... It just shouldn't remove anything for person B.

If person B wants to keep the image and keep the tag there, they should be able to do that without person A being able to delete it for them, if that makes sense?? Without having to interact with each other...

For me it would make more sense if each pic in each person's gallery is treated as if they had uploaded it themselves, so they can change thumbnails, descriptions, tags, etc or even delete it all together without affecting the other persons gallery ASHDUIAHDUAIDHI

As a side note, thank you everyone for continuing to support this issue! I still haven't heard anything back on the ticket I submitted back when this thread reached 100 upvotes... I've never submitted a ticket so idk how long it usually takes for a response and I don't want to pester them, but I may reply to it again once we get to 200 o(-

i cannot believe the system is really like this

how it SHOULD work:

tagging someone else's character creates a permalink to that character in the image description

removing that tag removes that permalink

and That's It

cross-account tags should be a convenient way to create links to relevent characters, they should not grant permissions
