We expect our students to act with courtesy and kindness in all aspects of behavior. While it is not required to read everything, skim through it before asking any questions beforehand! Be aware some of the writing here is meant to be taken how an actual university would have it. It’s just to make our world a little more authentic! We have the right to ban/kick any member we feel crosses out of line.  If you feel you can’t commit to being a morally decent human being, we politely welcome you to leave at your own will. We as a community do not tolerate anyone with toxic etc. ideologies. We have the right to ban/kick those who are not creating a safe environment for the rest of us.

If you plan on roleplaying, you are required to join the server & find a RP partner before posting on the forums.

1. Activity

Activity isn’t required or strict. Our goal is to find those who will be just as interested in seeing this project grow, it’s something I like to attend to in my free time! You can join and not participate in any RP activities. If you are active and then go on hiatus, even without notice, we won't ban/kick you from anything. This project is for anyone, we will be more than happy just to see you again! We want everyone to just have fun, we have no interest in activity checks or anything. If you genuinely love being involved in this community, then it we'll see you! We offer a relaxed RP environment.

The only time you might be mentioned is:

  • Your rp partner awaiting response on your behalf, if they decide to contact you
  • It is your responsibility to check in with your RP partner
  • In our #forum-postings channel

2. IC =/= OOC

In Character / Out Of Character. Contact the person in advance and work something out between both parties if you are looking to start some trouble with another character for roleplay purposes! Both must be in agreement. Talk about boundaries, see what's allowed and what's not, never do something without the creator's permission and most of all, have fun.

3. Literacy

We do not require a roleplay sample. however we really look forward to those who can post at least a paragraph! it’s all good if you’re not feeling super inspired to write something really long. Just avoid sending out few sentences - if you’re ending a post it’s more than welcomed to make it few sentences or less. Read more about our RP system here for more.

You are required to TW things such as but not limited to:

  • Violence
  • Drugs
  • Death

4. NSFW content

We do not allow any NSFW content involving subjects such as: art & roleplay. This is a mature chat zone, we're all adults so you won't get in trouble for swearing or speaking maturely! If any of our mods ask you to spoiler or remove something we kindly ask you don’t give us a hard time - we’re trying to make this a comfortable space for everyone. Suggestive themes in art require spoilers.

5. Moderation

We will give warnings if feel we need to, but under any circumstance if an issue is too bothersome we will kick/ban those without warning - common sense. If you have issues with someone that has joined that might be deemed as problematic (homophobic, sexist, racist, etc), let us know ahead of time so we can settle the problem ASAP. If you cannot respect any of the community's warnings, you will naturally be banned / kicked. Our members and staff should not have to explain why it is not okay to say something offensive.

6. Subscriptions

To be notified of RP replies, subscribe to each thread you post in to keep updated with responses. We also have a forum update channel in server, so feel free to let us know when you have! If you leave the world and forget to unsubscribe to our threads, no sweat. Just go into the forum tab (of toyhouse), and scroll down to your subscriptions. There, you can modify what you're getting notifications from.

7. Venting

Our community is made to bring positivity and is generally for creating ocs, learning about them, etc! We ask that you please avoid openly venting in our channels, not because we do not wish to hear you or that your voice is insignificant, but because we want to harbor a safe space for everyone and assure your safety. Actively venting about certain traumas and other related topics are off the table for your safety, and for ours. We want you all to be safe and protected, sometimes vents about trauma can be triggering for others.

What are some nice topics to discuss?

  • OC discussion, headcannons
  • World building
  • Art, character design
  • Anything toyhouse related

8. Forum postings

We strongly encourage all members at Animal Academy to RP on the forums, that's what they're for! This is an excellent way to get your character established and known to the community. We do not encourage DM roleplays because of the following: little recognition or familiarity of your character among our members, lack of establishment and no moderation, therefore our guidelines do not apply to what you're doing in private. If you come across an issue, we are unable to assist you.

Reminders

  • You can post on the forums with a closed/private RP to prevent anyone from jumping in.
  • To learn how, and more checkout our Roleplay Guide.
  • If an individual posts to a closed RP uninvited, their post will be deleted.
