This week, on April 15th the World will be undergoing heavy construction.
We're talking about new logo, name, server, CSS, lore changes, and much more that I am eager to share soon. Animal Academy has been a fun project to see grow over the years, and it's time for an expansion I have been wanting to do for a long time that extends more than just a "college rp" that's more universal. People will be encouraged to make characters that aren't just students, but civilians, celebrities, and anything anyone can put their minds to! Things will be less limited and more secure in terms of people seeking to join. Keep in mind this also means our rules are subject to change, familiar members that have been with us for a long time will likely keep their membership, but a lot of existing characters and members will have to reapply. This is done to ensure this is this a project you want involvement in after the changes have been made. I am looking forward to sharing more soon, you might just see the changes yourself if you visit the world occasionally.
This April 15th...
- Forums will be paused until completion
- Most members/characters will have to reapply
- The server will be deleted and recreated at a later date

Estimated within two weeks, less or more. Keep in mind that the world is actually currently being worked on, on a separate world so that it allows me to get things completed sooner and have majority of the hard part complete. Considering I'm only free during nights, it just depends how much I'm able to complete within that time frame. But what's important is that it's getting done!
💬 Why is this happening?
This is long overdue! I have had these ideas not set in stone because I was still rebranding with a name. It's been an on going process that's been quiet until I figured things out, and with the semester ending soon for me it seems like a great time to get things situated.
💬 When can I apply?
When the world is finished with construction. Keep in mind the apply form will be updated and changed, meaning some may or may not be qualified to join. More information when the world is complete.
💬 I'm in class still. What will happen?
On April 15th class will end so that we can continue heavy progress. We recommend you try your best to hurry, you will be able to RP again soon another time!

WINTERS ART EVENT
draw your oc in a ugly Christmas sweater!
Animal Academy will be presenting it's second art event, and probably the last of this kind for a very long time based on feedback, however the votes have spoken and it seems you guys want this one to be art oriented again! Which is a perfect opportunity for our newer members to hop in. This means to participate in this event, all you have to do is draw your character in a ugly holiday sweater.

Just post your finished result in our server's art channel!
The artwork can be drawn or even commissioned, digital or traditional - you name it. There's no limit on the amount of characters you decide to draw for this, nor is there a requirement on what a submission should look like (ex: it can even be sketched)! The deadline is Dec 30th.

THIS YEAR'S OCTOBER
Art Event
Animal Academy will be presenting it's FIRST art oriented event! Unlike our usual events which consist of roleplaying, we're going to celebrate this month differently. 🎃 This means to participate in this event, all you have to do is draw your character in a Halloween costume!
How to enter
Here are no steps in this process, however by voting on the poll is a good way to help confirm your interest! The pieces can be drawn or even commissioned, digital or traditional - you name it. There's no limit on the amount of characters you decide to draw for this, nor is there a requirement on what a submission should look like (ex: it can even be sketched)! The deadline is Oct 31st.

Brief update on guidelines
Our roleplay guide has been updated, now going into brief detail on how to start roleplaying on the forums - If you're new, it's highly advised you take another looksie - especially if you want to RP sometime. It breaks down everything in an easy, understanding manner!
Our newcomers guide has also been updated & shortened, focusing on information that hasn't already been repeated in our rules/rp guidelines.
STUDENT ARRESTED
Animal Academy student linked to the disappearance of another student!
Animal Academy is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, but there's more than what meets the eye. Two years ago, a student by the name of J. Morson went missing just on the outskirts of the campus but was later found dead! Rumors spread like wildfire amongst the academy's students and media. However despite the news, this didn't slow down the traffic for applications. It was the least bit surprising when the university managed to cover up majority of what happened that day. Could they be hiding ANYTHING else?!
The student (whose name was not released by police) was arrested on suspicion of possible homicide. A close source tells us at the student was a highly successful, respectful, yet strange peer among his class. The department got an anonymous tip declaring the person responsible of the death of Mr. Morson causing his arrest. Let's hope his lawyers are as good as his grades!
A police spokesperson said she could not comment at this time as to what the possible motivation for the attack might have been, or whatever information might be wanted at this time. Did you know that this isn't the only time a student has been arrested for the same case? They were proven innocent, but we can't say the same for this new suspect.
Kennedy Willmore, the chancellor of AA is forced to speak out for a second time. "We are incredibly saddened still till this day after such a tragic incident, but relieved that justice is running it's course. It's disappointing to see the headlines surface again - not because it gives the academy a bad name, no. It is heartbreaking to the family to see again, you see! The academy is not responsible for the death of Mr. Morson. Students have no reason to remain vigilant or alert during this time, we have everything under control. Until further evidence is introduced, everyone must remain calm. Let the professionals do their job! This one bad apple does not represent the academy." the elephant said briefly, ignoring any questions reporters surrounded him as he struggled to fit into his car. It seems this has become a nightmare for everyone involved.

A MAN GETS 25 YEARS, THEN BITES ATTORNEY
A wolf who bit his attorney after receiving a 25-year prison sentence is facing additional time. After hearing his sentence, the man made a comment to the judge then abruptly lunged to the face of his attorney, leaving bite marks. He was hauled out of the courtroom.
