- I have such a HUGE weakness for retro fantasy RPG character designs. They tend to have a nostalgic vibe in a good way, and even with the wacky hairstyles/unnatural hair colours, they are so good.
- Winglike ears in general. They're so cute;;
- Really long hair, even if it's Rapunzel-esque.
- Two words. French Hoods.
- Just the cartoon creature/cute slime enemy trope. In general.
- At least two characters whose colour palettes are inverts of each other. It's a really clever design trait tbh.

share what you personally love or prefer in character designs. You can also share specific characters from yourself or other people and describe what you like on it and why you like it so much. Through that would be fun and positive idea. :]
For myself I love a nice contrast. Not very light on very light color. A good contrast and balance between light and dark colors can make a design very recognizable for me personally and it stands out a lot more. I also love well made neon/bright designs. Not too many colors smashed together. And other, mainly darker tones who balances it out. For example my little Bird has a very bright glowing blue for some body parts but natural colors on the main part of his body. ( I generally have a weakness for blue together with natural tones haha)
Another thing I find very appealing are decent rainbows. Now, rainbows are not for everyone but if done right they can really look very pretty and add a lot to a character. Instead of just greys with no variation for example. But this also depends mostly.
I love freckles, moles, scars, and hair streaks (both dyed and natural gray/white). I also love jackets on designs and weird earrings
I love when OCs have sometnhing original in their design.
I'm not saying that the OCs aren't original, but I love when they just have a design aspect that u never seen before
OR I love when the character itself isn't a common animal species
or has colors that clash but not too severely, like they clash so unsubtly you wouldn't even say it;s clashing
- half n half characters (especially with heterochromia)
- humanoids with animal features
- STICKERS/BANDAIDS !!!
- i love wings of any kind pls. … 💕wings💕
- rainbow !! literally anything rainbow esp if its highlights and the base color is black or gray
- earthy tones (brown, beige, stuff like that) as a base color
- either semi complicated or extremely simple designs
- ANTHRO AQUATIC FEATURES WHEN THEYRE DONE RIGHT ❤️❤️ Esp sea bunnies and shrimp
- those lucky charms decora style subgenre of characters . its rlly specific but its prob my fav thing ever
- “Cringe” scene ocs that look like they come straight from dA
