ive been hyperfixated on developing the fantasy world that me and my bf use for our ocs that don’t fit anywhere else, and i thought it would be fun to work on developing it by seeing how other people’s ocs would fit in it!
if you could throw any of the characters who are in the world a fav it would be appreciated!
technically you can send in any oc, just be aware that exulas is primarily a humanoid world so non-humanoids will have a limited answer ^^;
the world page is here, but it is Very bare bones atm since most of the lore is in our heads and in the Process of being put down TAT its mostly good for the map lmao

first off he would probably be a rabbit kemonomimi with a few more rabbit-like traits than usual, just as the harengon equivalent, but backstory wise
he could very easily be an ex member of one of the lesser gangs spurred to action by the yraitol revolution (if not a lower ranking faction of the unsilenced many themselves) since the incident where his family died was probably one of the main massacres of the revolution. not quite a 'gas explosion' but sudden mass death so close enough. now there's not really a demon equivalent in exulas so i'll get a little creative with what that could be in a second but for the Pain factor. one of the largest massacres of the revolution resulted in the creation of an entity called The Company, which is pretty much a giant mass of souls that exists on the periphery of your eye but never properly seen, since when souls die in exulas they return to the valcord glacier to repurposed into magic, but weirdly they didnt plan for this many people to die at once, so when they got there they all... merged together. what im saying is that sarcast's family could very easiy be some of the souls held within the company. and actually thinking about it if sarcast was linked to the revolution he might have interacted with the company at some point, so they could always be part of the thing that is 'possessing' him, though that might be more psychological 'repent your sins' rather than actual lmao, the company might Slightly be trying to eat his soul.
man that went on a slight tangent i think but hopefully that's coherent. i love characters like this where there's not an easy 1 to 1 conversion so hopefully it's thematically fitting TAT
also smh you can't slay dragon in exulas they're hard working members of society /j
i think the best equivalent for arkainian humans in exulas would probably be half-elves, since elves have a slightly higher proclivity with magic. also pointed ears lmao.
he world probably fit easily with being a guard captain in edosa! spiritual energy isn't a common thing to know or care about- especially in yraitol, so he probably has a learned form of passive magic that gives him amplified senses, similarly with manifesting energy in battle, one of the learned magics that proficient fighters in exulas study is manifesting weapons out of magic (or enchanting normal ones if you're not that good at magic but given the lore i'd say gabriel would be lmao) so that could work too!
the easiest 'corrupted' equivalent is probably just... monsters lmao. so he probably just leads one of the guard squads focused on patrolling the boarders and making sure that people are safe there ^^
oooo i've been meaning to make a canon detective npc for exulas for a while tbh i love them so much
of the countries of exulas, the two where detectives independent of the main law enforcement really,,, exist, are anslas and ilaphis. and of these two, in ilaphis they're held with a bit more of a romantic superstar idealation than in anslas, and for that reason i'd probably put him there! as well, ilaphis has some very prestigious magic schools, which i think is fitting for him to attend given his skill and fame. he strikes as someone who wouldn't go out of his way to move to an entirely new country for school and work, so he would have to be some sort of flight-capable species, since ilaphis is entirely floating islands lmao. and i think vibes wise him being an avian so he has wings is fitting. he has angelesque energy idk how else to justify it kdgffhkd (species wise i'm thinking a cockatiel- they're very smart like all parrots but are usually quieter. and obviously there's aesthetic similarities too gkdhdkd)
he's probably subject to ilaphis newspapers quite regularly, since if there's a Case going on they sure as hell want to theorise on it, but in general if he's going to school in ilaphis he's probably not too swamped by it, the best schools there have Very Good security. magically, i think him being a clairvoyant would be fitting, if he uses it subtly to make sure he says the right sort of thing in interview or to track down leads for cases. he doesn't seem the type to care much about the more showy magics akfhdkhsj

i think both for gem reference and Collection purposes, she would work really well as a gargoyle, and probably would have previously been an air genasi. there's only a couple gods in exulas and they're all Established but he can still be Powerful lmao. gargoyles eat metal and have tendencies to Hoard things a little (and are,,, made of stone lmao). gargoyles are most common in ilaphis bc of the high magic concentration, and tbh it feels fitting to have them be stationed in the observatory there bc its floating so its closer to space as well kdhdhdkfhd
ngl he'd probably just be a comedian (dwarves are still a thing so half-dwarf is still fine), the capital of yraitol is surrounded by mountains so he would be able to go up them if desired. for the message delivering aspect of jesting, it's probably more in the way of like,,,, being the kind of person that is just about town that knows everyone's gossip type thing, rather than an official aspect of the job gjdgfkfh. get all that gossip king
idk if you'd consider her a humanoid or not, sphinxes seem to be a perfect blend of everything no matter who you ask GWAHAH

dw sphinxes are a thing in exulas! a family of them form the ruling family of ilaphis (we only have the prince uploaded atm but. he’s there gkdhfjd) purely based on vibes i think having a place in the forest next to the forsor saltmarsh (i saw that werekas was a bog witch but,,, a marsh is close enough right gkfhfj)
sphinxes are fun in exulas because they,,,, negate magic. it doesn’t work in their presence, they can’t use it, and if they’re Trained Enough they can seal it in other people (do not recommend. it is potentially deadly in the long run to do that to pretty much anyone in exulas) so the witch stuff that she can do is probably more traditional wicca style witchery, though at least aesthetically that still feels fitting. bc of the magic negating aura, she’s probably a lot more Intimidating than she would otherwise have been. just because it gives you a Vibe that basically anyone can sense gjfhfjf. but also,,, that’s probably the main reason for living secluded in the woods.

I'm curious to see what you'd come up with for Gorf since I've seen there are both dragons and human(oids) in your lil paracosm! If there are no straight-up humans in the world then you can assign her cursed form as some sort of human-adjacent humanoid. Her backstory is a lil long so I'll give you a little TLDR:
Gorf was a dragon living a quiet life as a sheepherder/cheesemaker in the countryside before an evil wizard fought her for her land. Upon losing the battle she was cursed into a human. She moved to a rural town not far from her own farm (now being ripped apart by evil wizard guy) and moved in with an elderly couple. Now she helps out around the farm while also trying to find a way to regain her true form. In terms of personality, (I said this in her bio), think Golden Age to Renaissance Disney princess. She's soft-spoken and kind but resilient and will throw hands if it comes down to it.
