Over yonder, under an old gnarled tree, sat a man with a lute. Upon his head was a straw hat adorned with tassels, and in front of him was a warm bonfire that flickered and danced with the cool evening air. His mane, tan and unruly, danced with it. They strummed along with the sounds of birds and crickets and the crackle of flames, only to stop once they had noticed the unfamiliar presence of another. He lifted his head, eyes obscured and horns - nestled inside the holes of his hat - swaying with lichen and moss. They smiled and beckoned the other with a wave.
"I haven't seen your face before," they drawled, words like warm soil woven between their dulled fangs. "Come, take a seat, if you'd like."
His tail coiled up beside him as he patted the earth, a warm invite to rest.
